According to Dave Lombardi we have around 19 mil in cap space after everything , which includes the extra 30 mil, the carryover from last year and the incentives that didnt get earned.
Top team need? A superbowl victory.

Latu looks like a huge bust and Moody is average at best. The rest of players like Beal Jr, Winters, Bell, Graham, Willis. and Luter Jr. look like they have potential but they only showed flashes this past year. Niners have to take advantage of their picks this year to get younger, cheaper and deeper overall. They also need to get bonafide starters/stars in the first and second round. They have whiffed so often in those rounds, but it hasn't been fatal because of how they do later in the draft. Time to get it right all the way through this time.

Stop the Moody slander. He was excellent. This is garbage. I didn't want to take him but he was worth the pick.
I like what Lombardi said on his one video where we signed both Robert Hunt and Danielle Hunter and in the draft we got our RT at 31. With that I think I remember they still had like almost 5 mil in cap space left and that was with doing some extending and restructures. I think if we can restructure or extend a couple more players we could sneak in a player like Snead as KC has said they are open to trading him at the 2nd round level, I personally would offed our 2nd and a 4th to sweeten it so that way we have everything we need. With his contract we could backload it so his cap hit is not as big this year and we could sign the rest of our roster.

With that we would solve the right side of the offensive line, the CB spot and Edge. I think the only other spot we really would need would be LB but we could probably convince someone to come on for 1 yr on the cheap and fill that spot until Greenlaw comes back.
We talked about being healthy all year and yet this offseason we have both Huff and Greenlaw looking to return from MAJOR injury. That's two key pieces of our defense
They really need to make a decision on Juice. No way this guy should be getting 6 million.

Lombardi's numbers aren't right, he has 41 players on his sheet, the 49ers have 56 players signed, and under $700K in cap room, in no way are the 49ers signing Hunt, Hunter, & trading for Snead, they have to extend BA, Purdy, plus re-sign Mooney in 2025, the cap won't hold those 3 plus BA, Purdy, & Mooney.

Hi AB,
I was just curious as I couldnt find it anywhere but which 15 players are missing from the sheet? Im just trying to see where he might have slipped up.

I think Kyle needs an offensive coordinator to be honest

Pre-Free Agency Needs
Tier 1 - Compete for starting role against...
  • CB (Ambry Thomas)
  • Edge (Drake Jackson)
  • IOL (Jake Brendel, Spencer Burford)
  • LB (Dee Winters or Flannigan-Fowles)
  • OT (Colton McKivitz)
Tier 2 - Depth competition against...
  • DT (Kalia Davis)
  • QB (no one currently under contract)
  • S (George Odum)
  • WR (Chris Conley)
I know this would be pretty radical and would require the ShanaLynch to just say screw it lets truly go all in and do what the 94-95 team and plug all the holes we have. They definitely would have to do a lot of restructures and some extensions.

What they could do is sign Connor Williams to take over center on a 2 yr deal, then sign Robert Hunt to take over RG on a 3 yr deal and then sign Mike Onwenu to take over over RT on a 3 yr deal, this part here alone brings over 2 guys who already know the nuances of the system and were toward the top of the league at their positions and another guy who is a massive upgrade over Mckivitz and with that our offensive line would probably be in the top 5. With their contracts we can always backload them so we dont feel the hit this year.

Next you bring in Danielle Hunter to be the edge opposite Bosa and sign him to a 3 yr deal. They then can bring in Azeez al-shaair to shore up the LB spot and sign him to a 3 yr deal. They could also bring in DJ Jones once he is released and sign him to a 2 yr contract to be our run stuffing DT .Lastly in the draft you move up 6 spots to pick 25 and pick up Kool Aid McKinstry at CB. With these 7 guys we will have shored up the offensive Line, edge, lb, dt and cb and even after all of this we still have the rest of our picks in the draft to get BPA to add depth behind all those spots and others.

It will probably be close to last seasons amount to sign the whole draft class but I dont see us drafting 10, maybe 7 or 8 and it will be around 7 to 8 mil.
Now if ShanaLynch did this, this is the definition of truly going all in and we could possibly have a shot for at least 2 more years.
I know people are going to say that they wont do that, but all Im saying is never say never because teams can only stay together for so long and ShanaLynch just might say that they are putting all their chips in just like Eddie D did back in 94-95.

Nice job! I added a couple.

TE could be in Tier 1 too if a stud is available.

I really hope they bring back Feliciano, he played really well at RG for us, I'm not down with overpaying a RG in this FA market, now EDGE like Danielle Hunter, if we can get him for say $22M, on par with Bradley Chubb, I'd do that in a heart beat.
