Thoughts on Richard Sherman at DC?

He's better than what we have by a lot. He also probably doesn't want to do it. Plus we won't switch gears mid season. We just won't.

To me it would be more of an in the future type hire once he got his coaching legs under him. But hey lynch came out of the booth to become an excellent GM, so who knows

Terrible idea
I'd imagine he starts out as a secondary coach and assistant coordinator. But is that even a desire of his?
He just signed a contract with fox lets make Steve Young our OC while we're at it. This is a 9moon caliber post
Has he expressed any desire to be a coach? I'm pretty sure he is making big bucks on Amazon doing one of his passions, talking lol
Wasn't that what Kyle somewhat brought him in to do his last year?
i would like Sherm to be involved in any capacity with this organization. i use to loath him, but now i respect the heck out of him and think highly of his criticisms
and praises

bring him in
He stated when he was still playing that he intended to do the media thing and didn't express any interest in a coaching career. I guess that doesn't exclude it necessarily, but the media thing he has going on is a much higher quality of life and the dude has a young family. I'd be surprised to see him enter coaching any time soon, but if he does, I hope John and Kyle are all over him.
He was a great corner on his prime but is he capable of leading an entire defense and putting players in a spot to succeed. Not knocking him but not sure of his DC capabilities.
I'd be a 100% for this.

May have some struggles early just due to inexperience but I feel like he would learn quickly and listen to the players. Kind of similar to Demeco. He's going to be able to connect with them well and is a smart guy. He was like a mentor when he was with us.
Guys need to show a real desire to become a coach. They usually start as assistants at some level and work their way through the system. I can't think of any all time pro bowl type players that became coaches and were successful. Few have even tried. For one thing the great players are usually well off financially so they don't need the headaches. They also tend to be perfectionists and have a hard time teaching guys that aren't as talented as they were. Most of the great coaches never even played at the NFL level . Walsh, Parcels, Jimmy Johnson, Joe Gibbs, the Shanahans and John Madden never had NFL careers. Mike Tomlin may be the best player to actually have success at the coaching level.
No retired player with zero coaching experience who is currently in a cushy TV job is going to drop everything, pick up a head set and clipboard and be ready to coach an entire side of the ball to a Super Bowl. In the middle of the season, to boot.

Seems this fanbase is so desperate to move on from Wilks that many people have lost it. IF (big IF) we fire Wilks, it's going to be Johnny Holland or Daniel Bullocks who takes his place. It's that simple.
Sherm All TV.... not a DC... he needs to start as a DB coach first, then learn more about coaching..
