I find it funny that almost everyone benches Oliver for Womack which i completely understand but at the same time Wilks hasn't gotten to use Womack bc he's been on IR. Just a little ironic.

We have to keep in mind that people were calling for Saleh's head when he first came here. Let's see if any changes were made during the bye.

Thats true, but the difference was Saleh didn't take a good defense and run it in the ground. But to Wilks defense, he did have a good run in the first half of the season. Offense's just adjusted to his defense and exposed it.

Bingo. The talent was bad and Saleh wound up getting a lot more with less often times, even when we had injuries when the team was better.

Wilks has done the opposite.

Maybe if the Jets continue sucking Saleh will come back next year. One can hope….

Id take it to mean we want to hit teams where it hurts lol.
About the passing game:

1-Get rid of the 5-man fronts.
2-Odd fronts to leave Bosa on 1 v 1.
3-Play Womack because he can't be worse than Oliver.
4-E-T stunts with Young.
5-No more 10-yrd cushions.
6-Disguise coverages more.

About the running game I think that the main problem is execution because we aren't containing the edges and we are missing a lot of tackles in the middle. I think the only thing I'd do is playing Hufanga in the box more.
Go to Chris Kucereck and other position coaches and ask them what's working and what's not. Go back to the four man rush, save the Blitz for the very rare occasion bench Oliver and get Jayir Brown up to speed. Split Run snaps 50/50 with Mason. Play Bell over Ray Ray.
Run QB waggle, it never failed me in OG Madden

I hire someone a lot smarter then Genus49 too......

Kidding, but I would do the same get someone smarter than myself. If I was forced to take the job, it would be defense by committee, I would seek staff and player input and go coverage by coverage, package by package. Why have we done this in the past, and when did it work, have we altered it for this season? Why?

I would aim to get back to a flatfooted zone heavy defense, that tries to close down passing windows. I would cut out as much man to man as I could, since I do not like the way offenses are manipulating our defense, especially our defense chasing miss-direction allover the field.
I feel like Mason is a better three yards and a cloud of dust option, when the holes start to open up give it to Christian.

Maybe someone can speak more to the run defense, but I'm really not sure what the answer in the middle is. Have we not been having Hufanga come up much?
