After watching Jonny's film review, the run defense inside looks absolutely atrocious. These guys are getting blown up and turned so easily the linebackers have no chance because the OL are already past the DL and into the second level ready to punish our smaller 'backers.

Bosa was surprisingly bad against the run on the edge too last week. That hasn't been the norm.

On another note, one thing I would do as the DC is be on the sidelines with the players. At least Wilks is doing it now, though it sounds like Kyle is making him lol.

So why all of a sudden are they getting blown off the ball this year?

Kinlaw's increased playing time has to be part of that problem.

ok, so TODAY I am more than ever convinced that we should use the Horn Frogs 4-2-5 D and get our first pick some playing time already..

You mean versus other team's base offensive personnel (2WRs)? Use Jayir Brown instead of Oren Burks?

Yes, I don't care much of the fact that Oren is a veteran who's very savvy playing special teams.. I would have Huff as the Hybrid LB/SS next to Warner, and let Jayir man the deep middle... He was a very instinctive player at Penn State and we may just need that in the secondary.

I still like the idea of using the SPEED FOUR w/Hargrave being the only DT.

YOUNG - HARGRAVE - BOSA - GANJA as the SPEED FOUR line up..

I'd love to see that, especially with some games and stunts rolled up in there!
I hire Richard Sherman and just do whatever he says.

This is what I'm trying to figure out. IDK if it's just him, cause seemingly everyone is struggling. They have been absolutely destroyed by duo blocks.

I'm not an expert in front seven schematics, but it seems like we're expecting our guys to split or hold up against those double teams and it's not happening.

It was a bit alarming to hear some talk in surprise about Bosa not really holding up in the run game also. I don't think it's conditioning, or his holdout though. The answer is we either lost more talent than we gained on the D line, which I have a hard time swallowing, or it's Wilks. Those are the only things different from last year. I still have no idea how Kinlaw keeps getting reps when he's constantly putting trash on the tape.

Call up McGill and sit Kinlaw.
Bench Oliver and play Jayir Brown.

When is the last time we had a cb giving up 100% completions. Oliver is one of the main reasons the defense can't get off the field.
Ironically Kinlaw actually playing is worse than guys like McGill/Ridgeway/etc that we had last year filling in for him. His f**king cap hit is forcing the 49ers to play him, which is f**king crazy. We really needed to prioritize getting/keeping run stoppers like Ridgeway that we had last year. They are cheap and playing hard for even a single year contract and much better fundamentally than s**t like Kinlaw (huge dude that just can't figure out pad level).

Kinlaw looks like Tarzan, but plays like Jane.
I wouldn't let the team outscore us when the clock hits zeroes. That's how ill fix it.

I would add that dude has to stop being so extremely vanilla.

I thought his reputation was built more on a lot of different looks, blitz packages, etc. so I am surprised that the defense has looked so plain. They need to get Hufanga and Warner on some early down blitzes.

Nope. According to an article in the Athletic he had the most vanilla and use of base scheme and one of the lowest blitz rates. It's just that one blitz against Min that makes everyone think he's blitz happy.
