Skipping a game is just worth it. Players get rest, and you have less a chance of injury or upset in that extra game. Our biggest obstacle to winning this season is health.
This. I'd rather play Dallas/Philly at home AND have the bye week to rest. That's a huge advantage.

Absolutely true.
The bye was the path to our 1 Superbowl appearance. It very much matters.
It helps, but we were by far and away the best team. It looks the same this year (maybe last year too but no QB). One could argue the same in 2021, but we were a limping 10 - 7 squad that got hot.

Ok here's a scenario not likely to happen but would work in our favor.
49ers have number 1 seed.
Dallas takes number 2 seed or number 3 seed.
Philly drops to number 5.
We play Philly in the Divisional, and allow Dallas and Detroit to beat each other up in the other game. If it works in our favor, Detroit knocks out Dallas, which sets up a 49ers Lions matchup in the NFCC, in which our defense would absolutely FEAST 😈

You just have to beat the best teams in the conference. Who cares how. #1 seed, bye, rest for players, homefield advantage throughout the playoffs is still a huge advantage. No way you don't want that.
