Who Backfills the 49ers Open Safety Position?

Based on what? Has he ever played safety?

Just my opinion, but the transition from CB to Safety isn't hard. I can totally see Oliver filling that void and that may actually be the better position for him

In addition to nickel, Oliver took snaps at safety with Atlanta last year in training camp and played some snaps during the regular season there as well. He also was recruited as a three star safety out of highschool.

Safety is not a new position to him.
