It is quite interesting to me what the 49ers have been doing recently with negotiating with their pending free agents.
First, there was George Kittle, they force fed him all the targets he can absorb, put up monster stats, and we had to pay him top-of-the-line money. Then Deebo stepped in, he was Mr. do it all, soon after, wanted top wide receiver, money which he was given, while Kittle became an afterthought. Nick Bosa, the year before his contract was up, they play him so many snaps, including late into meaningless games, which helped cement his defensive MVP. That priced him out from any reasonable negotiation any of that being paid as top none QB player.
Now they're doing the same thing with Brandon Aiyuk, while we have so many other refirvers, he's absorbing most of the targets share, while completely ignoring the third and fourth wide receivers, including kittle and Deebo. They keep on marveling about his ability, now he, for sure it will command top five wide receiver money. This over reliance on Aiyuk will only stunt the growth of Purdy and also hurt the confidence of our other targets, should they need to be called up in critical moments if they need to be called on.
I am not even going into how they are using CMC!

Kyle runs this b***h. It's all about who he wants to feature and why. Mismatches. It's how he rolls. And he's damn good at it.

How will the good connection between Purdy and Aiyuk stunt Purdy's growth?

Don't think it would, but also think he's overstating the target share/reliance point he's trying to make.
Aiyuk has 61 targets
Kittle 56
CMC 52
Deebo 40
Aiyuk, CMC and Kittle are tied with receptions.
Aiyuk did miss a game… Deebo missed multiple games.
This isn't some unusual imbalance of target share. Aiyuk stands out because he's more productive per reception in terms of yardage. He's been our best intermediate and downfield threat.

Yep this is the reason....Aiyuk is having a great year you go with the hot hand. The others get theirs when the D focuses on Aiyuk and leaves Kittle in the middle or dump off to CMC. When they stack the box and pull safeties then it's Deebo time in the flat.

For once the Niners have a QB who distributes the ball and sees the field, and this is what people make ?
Look, having impeding free agency or contract years influencing calling plays on a football field, is absolutely idiotic. Especially for a win-now team. Aiyuk is getting the ball because he is open and our QB thinks it's the best play he can make.
Football and sports in general is unpredictable. You can get a season-ending injury on any play.
This team's passing game is predicated on its pass-catching RB, TE and a great route runner WR and a great YAC WR. Everyone always says to get your weapons the ball. If you weapons are open, that's what you're supposed to do.
The WR dropoff after Aiyuk and Deebo is staggering. Teams are not scared of Ray Ray McCloud or Juan Jennings. They just aren't. Jennings has nowhere the separation that Aiyuk has. Ray Ray doesn't have the ridiculous tackle breaking ability or the speed that Deebo has.
