All the seeding discussion aside, getting the #1 seed and having to play a Dallas team that is in your division and might be 13-4 with the league's highest point differential might suck.

While I realize this team lost to Minnesota, I still think the #6 and #7 NFC wild card teams are dog crap along with the NFC South winner who Dallas would play. So the #1 seed is going to have to face a pretty good Dallas team that seems to be getting better while the #2/#3 seed gets Detroit who I think might be a bit of a paper tiger.

Good point! Maybe 2 seed is better

they are (or were) in yards but DVOA takes into account efficiency and quality of teams

even when they were #1 in yards at the time i checked they were ranked #12 in YPC

Eagles have the #1 rush defense correct?? Well the Eagles took a little hit tonight with Fletcher Cox going down with a groin injury.

I'll just say this about referees......I f**kin hate'em.

Kelce also left the game early, for what, I don't know
I don't see Hurts -- bum knee and all -- outrunning Fred or Dre'

If the 49ers can keep the Refs at bay, I like their chances

I think #2 is better but the team still have to get over the mental hurdle of believing they can go into Philly and win in the playoffs if that is the matchup. Of course Dallas could beat the Eagles then come to the 49ers backyard where Dallas obviously doesn't like to come play.

The #1 seed will not face Dallas. We would face Dallas as the #2 seed. The #3 seed is better than the #2 seed in some ways because of this.

#1 seed will always be better than #2. we cannot underestimate the value of not just homefield advantage but an extra week of rest compared to your opponent at the end of a long NFL season. #1 would be better for us every year regardless of opponent.

the eagles are clearly not as talented as last year but also are showing that despite that they keep finding ways to win at the end. i think theyv had help from refs and unreal consecutive errors by chiefs WRs and the bills imploding like they always do. but what scares me is no matter who their opponent is they find a way to win. it always involves hurts ripping a D at the end of a game with a couple 20 yard runs. those have been the game-sealers. wilks better have that s**t on tape with a plan for it already in place.

because of that i think after their bills win the #1 NFC seed is pretty much out of our reach. they will keep finding ways to win or get lucky. we are on a path to the linc in january and our only hope is we get lucky an the eagles somehow implode an stack up a couple losses(unlikely) OR get exposed an beat in the first rd of the playoffs by like detroit or dallas(def possible) an they never make it to us.

Siriannis cocky ass needs to be brought back down to earth and id love for us to be the ones who do it.
The road to the Superbowl is through Philly unfortunately.
So, the road to the Super Bowl goes through Philadelphia...twice.

Gonna be fun, y'all.

If the top 3 teams take care of business and #5 seed cowboys beat #4 seed falcons/saints, wouldn't the eagles play cowboys and niners lions?
