All the seeding discussion aside, getting the #1 seed and having to play a Dallas team that is in your division and might be 13-4 with the league's highest point differential might suck.

While I realize this team lost to Minnesota, I still think the #6 and #7 NFC wild card teams are dog crap along with the NFC South winner who Dallas would play. So the #1 seed is going to have to face a pretty good Dallas team that seems to be getting better while the #2/#3 seed gets Detroit who I think might be a bit of a paper tiger.

Good point! Maybe 2 seed is better

The #1 seed will not face Dallas. We would face Dallas as the #2 seed. The #3 seed is better than the #2 seed in some ways because of this.

If the top 3 teams take care of business and #5 seed cowboys beat #4 seed falcons/saints, wouldn't the eagles play cowboys and niners lions?

Yes. The NFL doesn't have a bracket like the NBA, so the niners would play Detroit.

Just once. This upcoming game just became somewhat meaningless. I guess getting over the mental hurdle of last years loss. Just need to stay healthy for if/when we face them in NFCCG.

Thanks. That's what I thought.
Looking at the Eagles and 49ers remaining schedules, the only way the 49ers get the #1 seed is:

1. 49ers win out and
2. Dallas beats Philly
Have not hated a team nor seen one this lucky since 2012 era Seattle. Ball bounces Eagles way every game.

f**k this team. I want blood Sunday.
I've been watching this franchise long enough to know that the #1 seed doesn't always make it to the SB.
I've also seen the 49ers have HFA, and not advance to the SB. I believe they are a better all-around team
than the Eagles, when they play within their means.

If by chance they happen to fall to Philly next Sunday, it will sting … but as long as the Niners make it to the
NFCCG and win it, that's all that matters in reality.
Fn a. Elliot hitting that long fg, Gabe Davis looking over the wrong shoulder on what would have been the game winning td

It does seem like that. Either the other team screws up, and/or the eagles come up with an improbable clutch play.

Anything is possible. Philly could lose three in a row, us, Dallas, and Seattle. I see us winning decisively next week. Then they lose a shootout to the Cowboys and then beat Seattle. That would put us in line for a revenge game back there. Frankly, I would love to see it happen - go into their house twice and steal the bacon.
Niners + 1.5
O/U 45.5

Line is all over the place. Some books have Niners as favorites it appears.
