They will play

According to eagles content creators, Cox is more ceremonial at this point in his career, and Milton his backup is playing better. Lane Johnson should play too. We'll see today whether Armstead can go for us…

Meh Cox still has more snaps than either of the other guys. He's still solid and an important part of that IDL rotation.

sounds like he's probably not gonna play

Eagles DLine is getting old as the season wears on. 49er DLine is relatively young.

If our DLine plays like it has been the past 3 weeks, we really should win this game. The only thing that scares me is we were undefeated in September, lost 3 in October, undefeated in November....hopefully every other month thing stops this Sunday!

Nice pattern catch.

What kind of weird trend is that? The 49ers are undefeated this season when I eat turkey. I've run out of leftovers.

Haha. I still have some!

Must be so dry it's turkey jerky now.

Seriously!

All week on TV, same thing - Purdy got hurt last year in NFCCG - ok - what happened to the 49ers defense? They gave up 31 points.

Is this year's defense a better version of last year? Then we have games against Cleveland, Vikings and Bengals, where the defense played really poorly. The only significant diff at this point in Chase Young. One guy can turn the fortunes of an entire team in a road game?
More questions than answers on the defense.
I would say they got tired and run down after all the three and outs the Niners had especially in the second half. Just my opinion from watching the game.

Since they are pretty much 99.9 percent in getting first downs when using it, I say the DLine just goes ahead and smashes it before the ball is hiked. Push Kelse right back into Jalen and I mean plow them under, someone mentioned that at the Goal line it would be a small penalty they can't get an automatic TD on a penalty. Just smash em when they line up in it.

Absolutely. Mash them every time they try it. They should jump over the top and pile drive down on Hurts too. Several guys. Not just 1. Eventually they will stop calling the play.

Kinlaw will be the first DT to ever get pancaked on a tush push.

If Teams would start blowing it up before the ball is hiked then I think they would think twice before running it.
taking a goalline penalty is a great idea, but on the other hand if they get 1st and goal with only inches from scoring then they just run regular plays to score the TD anyway

Apparently Jalen is better than Brock because of Jalen's 2nd half comebacks. The problem with that idea is that if Hurts didn't play so s**tty in the 1st half of those games, he wouldn't have to comeback.

Seriously....I world rather have Brock in Kyle's offense much better head and processing. Jalen may have more athleticism but nothing else I can see. Everyone says better arm, after Brocks play this year I don't think so.

Kelce already crying about the play where Phillips blows up the Tush Push. Boo Hoo.

You don't think that's been tried yet? I would be dollars to doughnuts that that the strategy you have suggested, plus many others, has been tried in an attempt to stop the "Tush Push." All of them have failed. The 49ers do not have the kind of beef on the defensive line, nor at linebacker, to stop a play like that so my hope is they aren't forced to try. The 49er defense relies upon speed, quickness and leverage technique to stop opposing offenses. This does work and can work against the Eagles in many cases.

But not against the Tush Push. Forcing the 49er defense to try and stop this play is just going to result in injury. So, it's my hope that the 49ers are up by 35 points before the Eagles are in position to attempt a Tush Push. Because, even if they get it, it won't matter.

I haven't seen it tried. Have you? I am suggesting they do it I am not saying it will stop it I'm saying if they want to run it and when they do they get the first down 99.9 percent of the time, then as a defense get your moneys worth and go on a take the penalty. WTH.

I think you are missing the point I am trying to make here . It's not to stop it, it is to administer punishment when it is put into play.

The Bold is what I hope also.

A dollar to a donut if the eagles line up in the Tush Push for a yard they get it.

Key line in bold font and underlined. The only punishment that will be administered will be to our defense. Nick Bosa will get crushed. It's not his style. Never will be.

The Eagles line is both LARGE and POWERFUL. The down side to this is that they are also SLOW. That's something the 49ers can take advantage of. They are built to take advantage of this kind of mismatch.

The 49er defensive line will never win a power matchup against that Eagles line. Ever. So, why even try? Unless they are forced into attempting to stop it. If they are, that's usually a bad sign.
talk about the game starts at 8:20

Key line in bold and underlined, I disagree, if the defense rushes before they hike the ball they cannot react in time to defend the rush you are assuming they will know that the 49ers are going to jump offsides.
It will be just like Phillips did for the Bills Sunday and is what kelse is crying about now. Agree to disagree on this one.

if you don't like the play, that doesn't mean you play outside the rules and take a penalty to give all those guys a 'free shot' that's not the 49er way or any other way, except maybe Raider?

you gotta push with all eleven, that's how they execute it, that's how it must be stopped, no contain, just all 11 pushing. A front line,, being pushed by a back line. They control the snap, and the timing, but a tie would go to the D. You could even have a personnel specific for that play, but the trick is they can go quick without a substitution and we must do likewise, bit of a chess match, maybe have the key personnel already in on 3rd, or call a TO.

I agree. Try to time it but have whoever is over center, blow up Kelce and blast Hurts. If they're early, c'est la vie.
