49ERS at EAGLES Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Week 13

In some ways the #2 and or the #3 seed might be just as good if not better than the #1 seed. And here is why, If we get the #1 seed we are all but assured of having to face both the Cowboys and the Eagles in order to get to the SB. As the #2 or #3 seed we would likely be facing the Lions in the divisional RD which we can handle, Whether we are at home or away and the Eagles would have to face the Cowboys in the divisional RD and they don't own the Cowboys like we do. It gives us some hope of avoiding the Eagles. Now ofcourse I am assuming all the favorites win their wildcard matchups.

Having a bye week and then playing the playoffs at home is way way better than having to travel at some point of the playoffs without that bye.

#1 seed, off week to rest and homefield throughout the playoffs are best.

I agree with this. That being said I think we should vie for the #1 seed but if we end up at #2 or #3 so be it.

For me the biggest issue with the #2/#3 is that it's EXTREMELY difficult to win an NFCCG on the road in Philly in January.

We really don't know how we would play against the Lions.

The Cowboys and Eagles are known quantities who we know we can handle.

This is basically how last year's playoffs were supposed to go but the Vikings choked against the Giants. So instead we had to play Dallas in the divisional round and the Eagles got a cakewalk

Cowboys are a playoff bye week

What some people are missing is that if we beat the eagles this week and then the cowboys beat them the following week - the eagles will not even be in the lead for
Their division anymore.
it would give us the 1 seed tie break over Philly and Dallas, meanwhile dallas would get the tie breaker over Philly (I think) for the division.

And if the people stare then the people stare
f**k the Eagles.
