I still think this will be a track meet kind of game.

It could be. That was indeed the first half of the Seattle game. But that third quarter had several fans poised to see everybody fired, call every player trash, scream that the coaching staff were morons, and were poised to jump off the Golden Gate, lol. Then the fourth quarter came, and the team put the Seahawks away like professional assassins. We've got to watch it because the Eagles have staying power.

They lost to the Jets right? They don't even have any offense out there with the QB injury. Which big time effects the overall team.

They struggled with every defense, just so happens that the other offenses weren't good and made mistakes to let Philly back in the game.

limit our mistakes and we walk away with it

You are right, Seattle put a bunch of points on that Dallas defense last Thursday, and it was nip and tuck in the 49er/SeaHawk game too. So I can see your point about it being a track meet game until the 4th qtr and we put them away with our superior offense and defense. That's my hope at least. That Eagle offensive Line makes a lot of things possible with that offense.
This game feels like "yeah, Niners going to whoop the iggles" then get a rude awakening after the game.
AJ Brown has 24 contested targets (2nd highest) this season. Smith has 17 which is ranked 16th out of 100 WR's. Defenses have 6 INT's when covering the two of them. Our defense has the most INT's in the league currently. A lot of them because of contested targets. Brown is 27th in contested catch % and Smith is 39th. Both in the 47-50% range.

The eagles offense has 56 total contested targets on 326 total targets (17.2%)this season while the 49ers have 33 total contested catches on 283 total targets (11.7%). None of our receivers have more than 9 contested targets this season.

Eagles defense has 104 stops, 32 PBU's and 6 INT's on 434 targets. Our defense has 130 stops, 29 PBU's and 15 INT's on 397 targets. That is a 32.7% success rate against the pass for the eagles and a 43.8% success rate against the pass for us.

The eagles best chance in this game is to run the ball. However, the eagles offense has only ran the ball +1.0 YPA DVOA 3 times this season and have been in the negative in 7 games. Our defense allows an average of 4.0 YPA. The eagles offense is 7th in rushing TD% this season.

History and statistics are cool to lean on, but nothing matters in today's NFL. Too much parody

Hurts is a good deep ball thrower but he isn't making any complicated reads when he attempts those throws. He sees 1v1 on the outside and he puts it up there for Brown/DSmith. I think that contributes greatly to the high amount of contested targets PHI has. At some point in the game, Thomas and Mooney will get tested on a vertical route. Even when they have decent coverage, Hurts will put it up there for his WR to have a chance.

Yes. But I like our chances against those deep shots according to the CTC% its litterally a 50/50 ball. Hurts was 1 of 5 on those deep shots in the NFCC. The 1 time Hurts did complete a deep shot was ruled a catch but clearly was not. Our defense has actually been better than last season on those deep passes. The only way I see us giving any up is if they start gashing us with the run and hit us off of playaction.
