lol "it's hard to win SBs back to back"
I posted this in the other gameday thread on 12/2.

AJ Brown has 24 contested targets (2nd highest) this season. Smith has 17 which is ranked 16th out of 100 WR's. Defenses have 6 INT's when covering the two of them. Our defense has the most INT's in the league currently. A lot of them because of contested targets. Brown is 27th in contested catch % and Smith is 39th. Both in the 47-50% range.

The eagles offense has 56 total contested targets on 326 total targets (17.2%)this season while the 49ers have 33 total contested catches on 283 total targets (11.7%). None of our receivers have more than 9 contested targets this season.

Eagles defense has 104 stops, 32 PBU's and 6 INT's on 434 targets. Our defense has 130 stops, 29 PBU's and 15 INT's on 397 targets. That is a 32.7% success rate against the pass for the eagles and a 43.8% success rate against the pass for us.

The eagles best chance in this game is to run the ball. However, the eagles offense has only ran the ball +1.0 YPA DVOA 3 times this season and have been in the negative in 7 games. Our defense allows an average of 4.0 YPA. The eagles offense is 7th in rushing TD% this season.

The eagles defense had 1 PBU while the 49ers defense had 11.

I came away very unimpressed with Hurts' ability to be a pocket passer. Mix up coverages and make him dissect zones and he gives off a 'deer in the headlights' vibes.

Dude literally was able to pause the game to dissect the game and still couldn't do it.

I'm curious when the all22 available, how our secondary covered the Eagles. Because Hurts had a ton of time in the pocket at times. Was it man, zone, or a combo to confuse Hurts.

Yeah I know, I was a bit surprised. I honestly haven't watched much of Hurts play but was surprised at this. I have heard nothing but praise for Hurts but seeing him last night..I was like hmph. Purdy is much better at being a pocket passer..much, much better.

He has never been a good pocket passer. His elite ability is running the ball, more specifically getting rushing TDs (38 in 46 starts).
I wonder how much money those eagles fans on social media lost this week that I told to put their money where their mouth is?

You mean all the rushing TD's the homo push scored for him?

Because they literally only qb sneak on short yardage. They use him like a running back, and it usually works, but it also helps explain why he's always hurt.

They wouldn't even run with him at the end cause he's banged up. Not a good plan with the season coming to a close. It hurts can't run around or sneak, they'll lose a lot.
I haven't seen many games where one team was totally dominated and held to no yards in the first quarter and then completely flip the script and score 6 consecutive TDs. I haven't yelled like that while watching a Niner game since Montana threw 4 TD passes in the second half against the Eagles after being pounded and slammed in the first half.

Going to really hurt the Eagles when the NFL bans it.

I'm fairly certain the 49ers mixed things up very well with man and zone. But when it was zone, Hurts really struggled with knowing where to go with the ball. Maybe once or twice he hit his dropback and got rid of the ball, but to a checkdown. Nothing impressive.
