This, he hasn't been the same dude since the back injury.
Spot on. It's not like the Colts have all pros back there. If he was good enough to crack the starting lineup, the Colts would have used him.
Per SI, "Leonard came back this summer and was ready to go from the jump in training camp but has yet to look like his old self on film through the first 11 weeks of the season. His range, athleticism, ferocity, and playmaking have all been absent. It led to the Colts reducing his role, as he's played just 69.7% of the defense's snaps in 2023."

Having some more rest doesn't make Jalen hold on to the ball less, doesn't make them have less arm tackles out there, doesn't magically make their defense have less gaping holes and leave our guys wide open. Rest had nothing to do with a 23 pt difference. If the final score was 7 or less, sure. We just whooped them
We played 3 games in 14/15 days. I dont get why Eagles fans are crying about 13 days.

Everyone plays 3 games in 14 days on a normal schedule. Lol saying we played 3 in 13 days is nothing to whine about - especially since they had a bye week right before that 3 game stretch. They went into that Monday night game 3 weeks ago with like 2 full weeks of rest. f**k em

To be fair, I can see fatigue being an issue. Having to play an incredibly physical team is tough with rest disadvantage is tough. Throw in the fact that they had a long game against Buffalo last week.
Perhaps if we play them again and they're better rested, maybe the game's a closer, but honestly---they struggled schematically on defense against us. Shanahan exploited their linebackers, particularly, and they frankly couldn't cover our guys. Sure, if we run it back, maybe their pass rush has a little more juice, but I just don't think they have what it takes to cover all the weapons we have.

It's an advantage but not enough to get throttled 42-19 at home. Lol
the bigger excuse is how many snaps their defense has played the last 3-4 weeks, that's real fatigue, no doubt. That's a roster issue though - they don't have the depth to give their guys rest and not a good enough defense to get off the field.
i said it earlier, we could play bosa a lot more than we do, but we don't. We rotate guys and put a premium on a deep d line. To save him for the end of the season and playoffs.
philly had a super deep line last year, it was their main advantage. Don't have it anymore.

Philly was fatigued because they played like 85-90 defensive snaps each of the last two games. It isn't that they played 3 games in 13 days. Specifically your d line, should be getting rotated more than that.
when we played the rams, bosa had like 60 sometbing snaps and that was a ton. These guys were doing 85-90. That's a coaching issue.
it's obvious sirianni and co aren't thinking ahead like Kyle does. Bosa could have way better stats if we played him a lot more, but we aren't playing for stats, playing for chips.

The last player in the NFL to play 95+ defensive snaps and 20+ special teams snaps in a game was Jordan Babineaux with the Titans back in 2012.
Other defensive notes
• The Eagles entered this game without Milton Williams (concussion) and then lost Fletcher Cox (groin) during the game. So the DT rotation was shorted significantly: Jalen Carter (76 snaps, 80%), Jordan Davis (62 snaps, 65%), Marlton Tuipulotu (32 snaps, 34%), Cox (22 snaps, 23%), Moro Ojomo (1 snap).
Those are all career highs for Carter and Davis and a season-high for Tuipulotu. In fact, those 76 snaps for Carter are the most from an Eagles' DT since Cox in that Dallas game in 2018.
• The Eagles kept their short rotation at defensive end. Haason Reddick played 83 snaps (87%), followed by Josh Sweat (81 snaps, 85%), Brandon Graham (26 snaps) and Nolan Smith (11 snaps).
Reddick got the most snaps for an Eagles edge rusher since Graham in that 2018 game; those 83 snaps are also the most during his Eagles career. Those 81 snaps are a new career-high for Sweat and those 11 are a new career high for Smith.
• Nicholas Morrow played 87 of 95 snaps, rarely leaving the field. Zach Cunningham played 55 before leaving with a hamstring injury. He was replaced by Christian Elliss, who was out there for 27 snaps.
• Bradley Roby played 71 snaps but there was still a rotation in the secondary. We saw Sydney Brown (12 snaps) and Eli Ricks (19 snaps) come on the field for third downs. When that happened, Brown played free safety and Byard moved up to play the tight end.
Their guys are going to be exhausted every week and get burned out. Especially their lazy rookie Carter. Lol f**k em.
THIS IS WHY WE HAVE SUCH A DEEP AND CONSISTENT ROTATION.
FYI: these are the eagles d snaps against the bills. Previous week ahainst KC, they played a ton too.

I think we're in agreement that fatigue is an issue.
I'm of the opinion that fatigue compounded things for the Eagles. If I were one of the poor Eagles defenders, for one, I can't cover their guys in open space. I'm already tired, and now we're all having to chase people around, and have to deal with Deebo, CMC, Kittle, Jauan, Aiyuk... just barrelling into me and punishing me? Yeah, I'm going to eventually fold.
49ers did a great job of just pressing all their advantages. 49er Playmaker advantage over an Eagle's coverage disadvantage. 49er physicality advantage over an Eagles fatigue disadvantage.
Is it something we should apologize for? Heck no. Pound them into dust.

Reading Philidelphia media reports regarding yesterday's ultimate KEESTER WHUPPING by the 49ers is just delicious. None of those reports reference stats like the snap reports posted above. It's just more of the "our defense wasn't good enough, but will be better" type of rah-rah-rah fan stuff.
Prediction: Eagles will lose against the Cowboys in Dallas. The Cowboys are going to be more than fired up for this upcoming game. Like the 49ers, the Cowboys circled this game on Dallas calendar.
The Eagles do not play well in Dallas. They haven't won in Jerry's house for a long time. The last time they won a game in Dallas was the year they won the Super Bowl.
The Cowboys smell blood in the water, thanks in part to the 49ers.

The only defender who can counter Deebo is Deebo. We all know he cannot do this game in and game out because he plays out of his mind and gets hurt.
But Brock is really, really, really good when it comes to spreading it out to the other guys.

The issue at this point in the season, is that they're not going to get time off to rest unless they win the 1 seed. So they're going to be fatigued and beat up the rest of the year.
i think Dallas will beat them. I kinda hope Dallas doesn't and then seattle beats them. Lol

Yeah, and in general, the Eagles have been playing a TON of close games this season. It certainly builds "callouses", confidence, and experience for a team. But at the same time, does start to wear on a team.
Meanwhile, for us, we've had a number of blowouts where we could pull starters out early.
We do have an opportunity to get situate ourselves well for the playoffs, especially if we can get that #1 seed and a bye.

Let's see.

You won't need to root for Seattle. The Eagles will not beat the Cowboys in Jerry's house.
