Dumb takes are making statements like this out of pure fandom. Steve finally won the Super Bowl when Eddie bought a team that was capable of beating the Cowboys because his QB wasn't. Their numbers are nearly identical, so please enlighten me of the area Steve is so much better. Other than your whack off book.

Yes. Its been frustrating trying to convince them that DAk is not the MVP. The level of competition between Brock and Dak hasn't even been close. Everyone talking about how Brock needs to win a game down 3 scores in the 4th quarter without any of his weapons in order to be considered on Dak's level is crazy. Dak can't win a big game to save his life. So when that team folds like a lawn chair in the playoffs it will be quite satisfying.

Dak is pretty awful, isn't he? But Hurts was totally exposed with this last game. I think the Cowboys will copy us some and win against the Eagles.
NFC Champ Game feels like it's leaning on either
Ravens SF
Cowboys SF
I am most worried about the Ravens at this point.

I can't agree that Dak is awful. He's one of the better QBs. The problem for him when he plays us is that our defense is really good, and only the top few guys can really school our boys on D.

You are absolutely right. IMO Dak Prescott is this generation's Steve Young. He plows through the regular season, demolishing sub-par teams, but doesn't have the meddle to get over that one last hurdle. Dak is a great QB on a great team, who any other year would absolutely compete for a Super Bowl, unfortunately he and his teams are going to smash their heads against the thickest brick wall in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers. What a great time to be a Niners fan!!!!!

edit: Are you going to modify your handle in February?

Don't put down Steve. He is a HOF QB and one of my fave all time Niners. Dak could not hold Steve Young's jock.

I'm not putting him down, I love Steve. I simply pointed out that he had a serious issue when it came to getting over the hump and winning the big game. I don't see it as putting him down and if it's factually incorrect please tell me how.

What numbers are you comparing? From completely different eras?

Young is a 2x MVP, 3x 1st team all pro, 4x TD passing leader, 6x passer rating leader, and 5x completion percentage leader.

And you do realize the teams Young was up against right? The Cowboys were a power house dynasty.

The Cowboy and Packers of the 90s were specifically designed to counter the offensive machine built by Bill Walsh. It became a copy cat league, and cellar dweller teams like Dallas and GB picked off our coaches, drafted high for many years to build rosters that could compete with us, then used our own playbook against us. Not even Joe could overcome that had he remained on this team. Not to mention that EddieD had a propensity to employ "rent-a-player" rather than keep a solid roster through the draft. We lost guys like Ricky Watters and William Floyd, but were eager to sign has beens like Rod Woodson and Kevin Greene. Not only did we stalemate in the playoffs, but this strategy put us in salary cap he'll well into the 00s.

I feel bad for Steve and Jerry. They were left with carrying an entire roster of mediocre players and has beens, and STILL kept our team in the hunt every year until Young's career got ended by Williams…

That hump was one of the best teams in history. The Cowboys of that era were loaded . Aikman. Great receivers. One of the great running backs of all time. One of the best if not the best O line ever. A terrific coach. Good defense. It was more about Dallas just being better than Young not being good enough to get over the hump.

I had my share of frustrations back in the day. Both teams are similar in that they couldn't/can't get over the hump. My disagreement with the Young/Prescott comparison is I think Dak is part of the problem not part of the solution. The guy seems to turtle up when it really matters and leave his team hanging.
My only concern with this game is the trap aspect of kicking the Eagles ass on the road last week.....huge huge win.

Luckily the team is healthy and playing at home. I'd like to predict a 10 point win, and will take it of any score....

Let me know when Dak gets a HOF jacket and wins a Super Bowl and maybe Steve will let him hold his jock.
looking forward Sunday to a complete demoralization of the secawks by handing Pete the Cheat his first ever 4th in a row loss

Hmm Steve, was part of the team..that beat the Cowboys..if not capable, then he wouldn't have been part of the team that..beat the Cowboys. You are minimizing Steve because of the team around him? Huh sounds like some of the more recent, dumb takes being made about Brock Purdy. So basically, you are Nick Wright. Lol.
Meanwhile, the rest of us that care about the Seahawks matchup are wondering if Geno will start? Doesn't he have a lingering issue?

Eddie bought a pass rush and defensive help to make up for the idiotic Charles Haley trade. The vast majority of that roster was home grown, especially on offense.

I am sure he will start. His lingering issue is Trent Williams

I remember losing to the Packers in the NFCCG. The whole team had quit and he was out there trying to do anything to win. He had mud in his helmet and just looked like he was getting killed. That's when I said Steve is a God out there. Dak would never do that, he would be pouting on the sidelines.

Dak could never hold a candle.

And for Cowboys relevancy, how about Young losing his helmet in the '92 NFCC and still rushing for yardage....

Anyone who puts down Steve Young, I don't take srsly as a 49ers fan at all. Gtfo with that s**t. Dak wouldn't be able to handle all the s**t Steve went through..and still get a Superbowl win. Did you even watch him in the 90s? Cause I did. For the life of me, I don't understand the SY put downs on a 49ers forum. I have seen it several times and honestly, bite me.

I don't think even the biggest Cowboy homer would put Prescott over Steve Young.....my God WTF am i seeing on here? LOL.

Young was a special, special QB, maybe his only flaw he wasn't as clutch as the ultimate GOAT, Montana himself.....ok, fine, BFD.

Maybe Prescott started his career off better, but by late '91 going into '92, Young became a monster. Finally became a real QB, but also could use his mobility when needed.

Young had great footwork, very good touch throwing to every level, and was tough as s**t. I think Young is quite underrated among the top all time greats....I refuse to consider Favre as being better than him, I just can't do it.

Never was a question mark as franchise QB, after the '92 season.
