Seahawks list QB Geno Smith as questionable for Friday's game against the 49ers. We'll hear more later from head coach Pete Carroll: pic.twitter.com/N255UAxW3L

Yes. Its been frustrating trying to convince them that DAk is not the MVP. The level of competition between Brock and Dak hasn't even been close. Everyone talking about how Brock needs to win a game down 3 scores in the 4th quarter without any of his weapons in order to be considered on Dak's level is crazy. Dak can't win a big game to save his life. So when that team folds like a lawn chair in the playoffs it will be quite satisfying.
Dak is pretty awful, isn't he? But Hurts was totally exposed with this last game. I think the Cowboys will copy us some and win against the Eagles.
NFC Champ Game feels like it's leaning on either
Ravens SF
Cowboys SF
I am most worried about the Ravens at this point.
I can't agree that Dak is awful. He's one of the better QBs. The problem for him when he plays us is that our defense is really good, and only the top few guys can really school our boys on D.
You are absolutely right. IMO Dak Prescott is this generation's Steve Young. He plows through the regular season, demolishing sub-par teams, but doesn't have the meddle to get over that one last hurdle. Dak is a great QB on a great team, who any other year would absolutely compete for a Super Bowl, unfortunately he and his teams are going to smash their heads against the thickest brick wall in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers. What a great time to be a Niners fan!!!!!
edit: Are you going to modify your handle in February?
Don't put down Steve. He is a HOF QB and one of my fave all time Niners. Dak could not hold Steve Young's jock.
I'm not putting him down, I love Steve. I simply pointed out that he had a serious issue when it came to getting over the hump and winning the big game. I don't see it as putting him down and if it's factually incorrect please tell me how.
That hump was one of the best teams in history. The Cowboys of that era were loaded . Aikman. Great receivers. One of the great running backs of all time. One of the best if not the best O line ever. A terrific coach. Good defense. It was more about Dallas just being better than Young not being good enough to get over the hump.
Aaaaand what about Green Bay?
Biggest issue against Green Bay in 1995-1997 playoffs for the offense was no run game. 1995 playoff game Loville rushed for 5 yards on 8 attempts. Young had 65 pass attempts. Passing that much in that era was a loss 95% of the time. Walker had a huge fumble returned for a TD on the first drive. Terrible RBs killed us.
1996 playoff game. Young tries to play with broken ribs, lasts only two series. Desmond Howard burns the punt coverage for a TD between those series. Oh yeah, Terry Kirby 14 yards rushing on 6 attempts. Floyd had 13 yards on 5 attempts. Kirby and Floyd both lost fumbles.
1997 playoff game. No Jerry Rice hurt. But again, Kirby and Hearst had 33 rushing yards combined on 14 attempts.
Young was never a "hero ball" QB in the 90s. Once he fully committed to running the system he would have the occasional scramble play, but he was always at his best when the system was running well.
Why did they win the 1998 playoff game against the Packers? Yes, you have The Catch II. However, the reasons you even had the opportunity for that last drive was because 1. No replay to see Rice's fumble, 2. Offense played balanced. Hearst had 122 yards on 22 carries.

Anyone saying dak is on the same level as Steve Young (praise be upon him) should be excommunicated from our fanbase for heresy.
back on topic, we need to bury these seachickens. We can't have any letdowns or hangovers from last week. BURY THEM!

I wasn't addressing the Dak thing, but rather giving context about why the offense struggled against Green Bay those three years. Main answer is no run game, second answer is turnovers (which Young did contribute to in 1995 and 1997). Defense also could not stop Favre. Holmgren knew how to make the 49ers offense one dimensional, and knew how to exploit that inconsistent defense.
As for the Cowboys - no question in my mind that they win four straight SBs if we don't stop them, which would have made them the unquestioned greatest team of all time. That we beat them and prevented that from occurring is not only one of our team's greatest moments but a gift to the rest of the NFL.

Superbowl, not a big game
NFC Champ Game..not a big game
The Catch II..not a big throw
Craig fumble, probably Steve Young's fault

That statement alone is absurd. You're comparing a QB that has a playoff record of 2-4 to a SuperBowl winning MVP. And a QB that has never even been to an NFC championship to a QB that has gone to 4

He's got another injury now, groin. The one last game was his elbow which is probably still impacting him.

Geno was described as "limited" in practice. Not sure what that means.
