49ERS vs SEAHAWKS Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Week 14

My key to the game: Keep the energy up. We have big goals this year and every game counts. Don't take these guys lightly, they're probably pissed about the thanksgiving game. Time to bury them. I want that gum chewing A-hole Carroll out of the playoffs
Must run the table in December, one game at a time. Seahawks smarting, they're in desperate mode. The rest of the West on a hot streak, Cards and Rams. There's no easy game in December

Yeah, can't take them lightly, gotta play hungry, like you are getting another turkey dinner afterwards:).

they simply cannot have a letdown game Sunday.

I think they'll be prepared for Seattle and Baltimore, knowing they're the two main opponents remaining on the schedule. My concern is Zona (mobile QB Murray plus playing a team that has nothing to lose mentality) and a surging LA team that might be in a "win and in" position in week 17. Hopefully we'll have the number one seed locked in by then and can rest our guys a bit. But I'm more concerned about those 2 games…

Highly unlikely we have #1 seed locked up early

If PHI loses at DAL and everyone else continues to win then we have the top 4 teams in the NFC all with 3 losses and 4 games remaining
SF gets #1 seed based on tiebreakers

Clinching early would require 1 additional loss each of for PHI/DET/DAL

We likely have to win out to maintain that #1 seed because PHI has an easy schedule and shouldn't keep losing

PHI (likely finish 14-3 losing to either DAL or SEA)
@DAL (need DAL to win)
@SEA (SEA win is possible if they play physical and run)
NYG (cake walk)
AZ (cake walk)
@NYG (cake walk)

DAL (rough schedule to end season should have 1 more loss)
PHI
@BUFF
@MIA
DET
@WAS

DET (might have 1 or 2 losses before end of season)
@CHI
DEN
@MIN
@DAL

I don't want ANY of our division foes in the playoffs
We know we have to win out to get the one seed which is why I am glad our guys are taking this one game at a time. This is why I am glad we have Purdy because he has PROVEN that he will always make the main thing the main thing and stay focus on this week's upcoming opponent and not our standings. Take care of your week and the standings take care of itself
I wonder playing Geno Smith Thanksgiving kinda prepared the defense against Hurts and the Eagles. They are both very mobile qb that can beat you outside the pocket. Now they have Geno, Murray, and Lamar Jackson. Playing against mobile QBs since Thanksgiving

You can thank the crapass NFC-S for that impossibility

Let's get this Win! I'd like to see our defense specifically our DB have a solid game.
If possible let's get BP or CMC for MVP stats padded. Just saying…

49ers: all games we SHOULD win.

Dallas: they usually play well against Philly cause they're divisional opponents. This one's in Dallas. Then they're a dif team on the road, so hopefully they lose to Buffalo. Who isn't a bad team, just constantly shooting them selves in the foot.

philly: good chance they lose to Dallas. They're burnt out and it's is a divisional game in Dallas. Followed by a cross country game in an extremely loud stadium against a team fighting for its playoff life.

i like our chances. Muhahaha

all the meanwhile, I'd like the lions to lose one. Just so they don't annoyingly snag the 1 seed and we have to go to Detroit and beat their f**kin ass

I like Detroit, and would normally root for them, but they don't deserve it this year. Not until we get ours....

And I'm not even considering us not going to the Super Bowl either, where I'd want to consider rooting for Detroit over Philly/Dallas.........and I just know in my heart of hearts, that as good of a story as they are, the league won't let them past the NFC East teams anyway (i.e. see 2014 Dallas/Detroit playoff game, last time Detroit was a top 3 seed).

I agree with that totally.

In a weird way, I'd almost prefer we be the only NFC West team in the postseason at the cost of a bye than be #1 seed with the Rams or Seahawks in there.

Of course we can handle them, but it's always a small risk. 2008 Giants were #1 seed and had beaten all 3 conference title teams in the regular season that year convincingly, and were knocked out by the Eagles in the divisional round after a bye.

We smashed the Seahawks score wise last year in the wildcard, but don't act like their halftime lead and the DK bomb TD didn't bother you.....

If we luck into 1st seed before playing the Rams, then I'm fine with resting our team and then kicking their ass in postseason if necessary.
division games always tough, i expect a closer game, go 49ers!

Truth. The schedule looks manageable on paper but I don't see a single easy game left. Even Washington on New Year's Eve could easily be what the Raiders game was last season.

Arizona game will be to clinch the division. They will be properly motivated.
