49ERS at CARDINALS Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Week 15

There is a good chance Brock ties Montana's record for most consecutive games completing 70+% of his passes. Cardinals are 32nd in the league in completion % allowed at 69.9% and over the last 3 games have given up a completion % of 72.5%.

Brock does like completing passes

Yeah I've noticed that too always throwing in the prefect position for the receivers to catch.
Wearing our red jerseys on Sunday in our home away from home! Go 49ers!
Honestly I'll take a win any way we can get it so long as we come out healthy
Wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) was upgraded from a DNP destination to limited on Thursday, making tight end Geoff Swaim (back) the only nonparticipant on the 13-man list. Wide receiver Michael Wilson was limited with a neck issue again after he had not practiced since Week 11 ahead of Arizona's game against the Houston Texans. The rookie had 435 receiving yards over the first nine games of his career and would provide another weapon on Sunday.

Cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr. was also limited with a groin injury. Hamilton missed the last two games.

I think it will be a potential shoot out with the injuries on our defense but I like our Niners offense chances in that case.

What about AZ equals "shoot out" lol? They're avg 17.7 pts per game. Even with a couple starters out it's not like they have a good offensive team.
If the 49ers don't take this game seriously it will be a dog fight. Kept the Seahawks in the game all the way to the 4th quarter last week. On the road another performance like last Sunday and it could be a loss.

Seahawks are better than the Cards but neither are in the niners league. They just need to execute and not beat themselves

Nah. We are like my cat. She'll catch a mouse and play with it a bit. Then let it go, give it some hope and then pounce on it again. That's what we did with the seahawks last week and they have a better defense than the cards. So not worried at all.

Yeah, should be interesting. This will be a huge test on our depth and how Wilks schemes with backups at certain positions.
  • I feel like Mooney being out hurts, but the Cardinals don't have a WR that could consistently abuse Lenoir, Thomas, or Oliver.
  • Not having BOTH Hargraves or Armstead hurts, but I have optimism that Kinlaw, Givens, and Davis can at least be serviceable. Just stick to your gap assignments, big fellas, and I think we'll be fine. Nick Bosa, Chase Young, Gregory, and Ferrell should soak up a lot of attention.
  • Dre Greenlaw seems like he'll be good to go. Just a little awkward that Oren Burks is injured. Dee Winters had to play some last week, right? How'd he look?

I think we'll be okay. Cardinals don't have a skill position player that should be a matchup issue. We have Bosa/Young rushing the passer. Fred Warner in the middle of the field. All of our cornerbacks are at least adequate. Gipson should be a calming presence on the back end.
Just don't hurt ourselves and even without some of the guys on defense we should win this.

They're definitely a lot better than I expected them to be but they still have too many holes on their team where we should be able to go in there and win if we don't hurt ourselves. Hopefully the team won't overlook them and maybe the injuries we have going into this game will help the team keep their eyes on the prize which is getting the #1 seed and then ending the season with a win.

I just got a feeling about them this week, I always think the Cards play us hard and with d starters missing, just my prediction.
