Yeah I saw that earlier. Had some fun times and some times when raining I'd rather forget going thru mud to get to car.

The last SF Giants game will always be remembered. The last game ended and shortly after a helicopter flew in and landed. They jumped out and with white gloves, home plate was lifted and taken into helicopter and they flew off. It was to be placed at home plate new park. Wonder if still there?

It was pretty cool.
Watched that earlier today. Very nicely made!

It had me reminiscing about the memories at candlestick.

Obviously the mall/apartment complex plan didn't pan out… I wish they had marked locations like home plate/the Diamond, Dwight Clark's catch, Vernon and TO's. Or heck just a rough outline of the field. Kind of sad how it currently sits.
I'll watch it. But I can't promise that I won't cry.

Nothing better than a crisp fall morning / day tailgate and game at the Stick. Incredible memories.
The tailgates were epic. And FU Kyle Williams.

Amen
I don't miss walking through the Sketchy Neighborhood next to Candlestick.
I saw it earlier on YouTube. Nice piece.

Then you should have gone earlier and parked in the lot. There was actually more violence in the parking lot than on that walk thru Bay View.
Imagine what the memories would be like if the team had never hired Walsh and drafted Montana, Rice and Lott. No SBs. No NFC championships. Just a crappy stadium that was often a nightmare to get out of after the games. Poor sight lines. Crowded concession areas. Generally poor food selections which is why the tailgates were so popular. Small restrooms. Ask women how they enjoyed those long waits to get into the rest room. Or ask a guy about having some drunk pee on his foot at the trough.

Truth is Candlestick was a dump. If not for all the memorable games it wouldn't be remembered very fondly. Even thise tailgate parties would have been less memorable. Not as many people packing the stadium. It could have been like it was in the years prior to Walsh..

Can't believe they didn't at least keep it as a place for kids to play sports at, like they did with Kezar or just a park for the neighborhood.

I was able to get my seats and part the Stick will be with me forever

The land was too valuable to make it onto a park. The Bay View district has enough drug problems so they didn't need a park for druggies to hang out in.

Unfortunately I couldn't get my seats. They were removed a few years before it closed in order to make room for wheelchairs. Section 14, row 19 seats 5 and 6 disappeared before we knew what was happening. We got moved from the 25 yard line to the corner of the end zone after 30 years.
Saw my first NFL game there in 1971

I miss the community urinals. There may never be that again, ever.
