SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS vs BALTIMORE RAVENS - 2023 Season Game 15

3:0 turnover ratio at halftime and it was a 4 point game, says a lot. The 2nd half was a joke though.

I would like a rematch in the SB, personally

Yes, Purdy won't throw for 4 INTs in the next meeting. Also, in a strange way, it's probably better to lose to a good team in the regular season (not preferable, but), and make the necc changes when they meet again.
The next mtg, there is a very high chance the 49ers will win it. The players don't forget these losses that easily, especially when you have this much talent.

Lamar is 20-3 against the NFC and deserves the MVP award period.

I will say he is the best player in the NFL today.

He turned the Niners into his little b***hes. It was so easy.

And he 1-3 in the playoffs 😂 so glad you won your Super Bowl.

Outside of that back breaking drive to end the half. Lamar did nothing special. Turnovers killed the 49ers

This. Lamar has been straight up embarrassing in the playoffs, you know WHEN IT MATTERS! Enjoy you running qb that has accuracy issues as well as has trouble throwing tds.

Yes. Intentional or unintentional inconsistency. I never stated which. You are the one who keeps throwing out trigger words. I am not just refering to this game when it comes to officiating. Its league wide and the NFL needs to do something about it. Also, that call on Lamar in the endzone last night was horrendous. They should have just let that penalty go since the ref accidentally interfered with the play.

Let me say it again. We lost this game because we turned it over 5 times. The ravens defense read our plays like they were the ones running them. We were very predictable. Brock's first INT he was slow to get to his 3rd read and threw it late. The others were great plays by the defense and yes, Brock was pressing to make plays when he should have just protected the ball. Hopefully the coaches get into his head this week. We can't have that s**t in the playoffs.

The defense was playing really well until they felt like they needed to make a play to stay in the game. That's when the damn broke. The fact that we were -5 in turnover differential and only lost by 2 scores is a demonstration of the talent on this team. We out gained them by 86 yards and converted 3rd down at a higher rate. Most of their scoring came off short starting field position. I have no doubt we will bounce back and make a deep run in the playoffs. I would love nothing more than to face this ravens team in the SB.

you don't let a penalty go. Refs are part of the playing field essentially, if you run into one as a receiver and the ball goes the other way, that's the breaks more or less. Once he threw it to no one in his own endzone, that's a safety.

What exactly should the NFL do about penalties, which you suggest, but you never suggest what the league should do. Easy to say NFL should improve, let's hear the specifics. I think most NFL games are called pretty darn well. I don't think you can robo ump the NFL, like you can in MLB. MLB has more objectivity to what a strike zone is. NFL is more subjective, what is allowed contact, and what isn't. The lines are a lil more subjective, in my opinion. Only thing I can think of is having the game instant replay reviewed for penalties, but that comes at a cost of slowing down the game, also fairness, what penalties do you review, why this penality vs that.. In a certain sense, I think the league already does this, as NY seems to chime in and get the game crew to overturn things, or pick up flags, if the in game officials are clearly in the wrong. I think the overarching goal is get the game officiated correct, as much as you can, with minimal slowdown.

Yes. You should let the penalty go. Either way it would have been a safety caused by the ref whether Lamar threw the ball or not. With your attitude, the NFL should just get rid of the refs. Lets just play backyard football. The reality is there have been a handful of solutions that have already been suggested but the NFL has refused every one of them. Including a sky judge who can make the corrections on poor calls and non calls. But I am sure you will fight me on this because I don't think your problem is the subject matter.

Outside of one run that made Fred Warner look silly, Lamar Jackson really didn't do s**t. People want to talk about Purdy having a good defense by his side, no one talks about Lamar Jackson having a good defense.

And btw I wanna beat the s**t outta Nick Wright. God I can't stand that prick.
I know this game thread is dying off, but I still have to post this I hope a few of you see it. For starters I'm 53 and I've watched every 49ers game since I can remember let's call it since 1977 or 78 so I was 7 or 8 years old. My thoughts on this last loss. This was the oddest called came by Kyle and I'm not say it was wrong or bad, I have this odd feeling he's play 4D chess and is many moves ahead and while we'll never know unless it plays out this way here goes. I think he's setting up the Raven's in case we meet in the Super Bowl, I have this odd sense he called this game in a way that will pay off later, I don't mean he called it to lose and I'm sure he didn't count on the turnovers. I'm sure he called it to win, but knowing he had a one game cushion for the #1 seed he played this game way differently with the chance it pays off later. If things go the way I want, and we do end up in the SB and if it happens to be the Raven's I think we win and when looking back on both games in their totality we'll see the brilliant plan devised by Kyle to get this team trophy #6. I know I may just be an overthinking fan, but I can't shake this feeling that I'm on to something.

That is in contrary to what I just said in the BP post. Similar thoughts have been floating in the back of my mind but you have the ballz to lay them out here to the zone. If true, then our HC is one crazy mofo treating the biggest reg season in recent memory like an experiment.

I'm hoping history repeats itself.

That Rams team also had a ridiculous amount of talent on offense.

I'm not confident we would beat them In a rematch, but I am confident the team won't play as bad as they did on Monday night.

If the 9ers rematch them in the Super Bowl, I have zero doubt the 9ers win!!!! Shanahan and Purdy will figure it out.

If Brock doesn't get greedy on that first INT, we score the TD and this is a different game. We shot ourselves in the foot again. Look at the stats, and take the TO's out, and that tells a better story. Not worried if we happen to meet in the Super Bowl.
They were completely mauled and Jackson was running around like there weren't any linebackers on the field. I really do not want to see them again. Best case scenario is a fraud team like Miami winning the AFC unfortunately

I wouldn't say Brock got greedy. Deebo was open and the ball was on target. Purdy just didn't do a good job of looking off the safety which allowed him to break in front of Deebo. If that was reversed and Lamar threw the ball and Ward picked it off you would be saying what a great play by Ward.

What do you mean Brock didn't look the safety off? Deebo was Brock's 3rd read on the progression moving right to left. The safety just didn't follow Brock's eyes when he was reading right and sat there and waited. Definitely a good play by Hamilton though.
We lost the turnover battle 5-0 and had 102 yards in penalties, yet only lost by 2 TD's. Baltimore should have blown us out by much more and couldn't. We still had 429 yds of offense. I have zero doubt we beat them in Super Bowl if that happens.

This bold is laughable. Read my last line, about the goal of getting the game officiated correct, as much as you can, with minimal slowdown. Only suggestion you had is sky judge, I addressed that in my prior post, they already do that, more or less, google the NY command center for NFL football, and what it looks like, and it's function.

What I meant is he didn't do a good enough job of selling it. You also have to give Hamilton credit for not getting fooled. It's never all just one way. When the offense isn't working you have to credit the other team's defense. Same for when the Niners D is getting gashed. Sometimes the other team just plays better. They get paid too.
