i watched his highlights he looks thick like kinlaw except actually good. could be all the help we need.

Rams didn't get rid of him, he signed a multi year deal with the Chargers after the Rams won the SB, and he was a UFA, he's a good player, better than Kinlaw & Givens IMO, and he likely, IMO, requested his release knowing how much a mess & f**k up that organization is. They fired Brandon Staley a year too late.

Rams didn't cut him, he left via free agency and Rams couldn't or didn't want to match that. I think the Chargers cut him due to financial purposes because the Chargers will be $34 mil over the cap.
Also the a reason why he didn't stay with the Rams is likely due to the fact that the Rams couldn't re-sign him, or Von Miller, or OBJ, or other UFAs they lost that year, they lost like 5, and also Whitworth retiring.

Right, they didn't cut him, he left as a FA after they won the SB, they couldn't retain a lot of their FAs, Von, OBJ, lost Whitworth to retirement, they lost a couple DBs too that year, they did add Allen Robinson & Bobby Wagner, which well didn't work out for them, thus they had to cut them/trade them and others, let others walk like Darious Williams to get under the cap this year, plus they gave Stafford a big extension, and Donald a new deal.
Has to be an upgrade over Kinlaw. Im
hoping he can he a lane stuffer like Ridgeway was and rotate with AA while he's recovering.

He's as good as you can hope for at this time of year. Experienced veteran that knows his role, won't embarrass himself out on the field and is a good presence in the locker room.

we can use that. the performance of the DTs the last couple games has been pretty low so he wont have a high bar to meet so should be an improvement over what wev seen lately. with the amount of talent wev put on this DL we should be seeing constant pressure on opposing OLs, especially when armstead is back.

So I read he was one of the team captains with Chargers. He was cut (his request?) When Staley their HC was fired. Was he due a signing bonus with the Chargers? I am surprised he cleared waivers to us and he fills a need.

From my understanding, he had a hefty deal in 2024, nobody was claiming him, like Ertz, & Leonard cleared waivers, no one was taking on their deals.
does anyone know why the hesitancy for us to sign Ertz? is he only wanting to go to the eagles?

i mean at this point if their gonna go all in on this SB they need to go all in. we prob wont have this amount of talent next year an be in this position holding the #1 seed with 2 games left in the season. if theres a plug an play player available thats really good i say get him as long as it doesnt kill our cap. i know this O is already loaded but we def could use another TE i think

Playoff teams might just see him as too washed at this point.

Most vets with decent contracts that are "cut" aren't claimed on waivers

Damn shame. I figure in this offense, he'd be wide open. I haven't paid much attention to him but I thought he'd be Jordan Reed at minimum.
He is an upgrade over all of our DTs vs the run.

Remaining dead money cap hits stay with the Chargers or are they assumed by the team making the waiver pick up ?
