Your level of concern after Christmas meltdown

I'm not worried BUT if we get the Ravens in the SB and we lose they will officially become our kryptonite. If we make the dance I'm hoping for Ravens and it would be the perfect ending to the season to beat them.

The game we just had was a blessing even in loss. We have what we need to see on film to try again.

The rest of the league, no worries at all.

That's because for the first time in a very long time our offense is carrying the defense. Running up the score on a lot of teams does wonders for our defense. We force teams to change their game plan, and then Wilks soft coverage schemes look great when you're giving 10 yard cushions with limited time left. Teams try to force the ball downfield and that's when we get turnovers.

When the offense is not clicking, our defense falls apart. All of a sudden those 10 yard cushions become long time consuming drives. The end result is usually a score. Look at all our games where we lost, or even early on eg Zona two weeks ago. Teams are just going up and down on this team with short passes and crossing routes. Our dline gets absolutely no pressure, and our corners outside of Ward are happy giving up 6-8 yards catches.

Its a mediocre defense, and not because we lack the playmakers but rather a play caller that has no clue how to take advantage of star power across the board.

Bosa
Hargrave
Young

Warner
Greenlaw

Ward

with a supporting cast of Armstead, Gregory, Brown, etc. We have a LEGIT defense that is way underperforming if you watch the games. But the analytic gurus will tell you we're top 5 bc on paper, we allow one of the least points per game. Least rushing yards per game. Of course, when your team is up by 21 points, no team is going to try to run. They're going to force deep passes. They're playing catchup and we feast off that.

take away the offense, and our D sucks

What the 49ers did to the Cowboys and Eagles is what I would consider beating the breaks off of somebody, what we saw Monday night was the 49ers committing suicide.
My only real concern is seeing the Ravens again.

And yet we were 2 yds away from making it a 7pt game with all 3 timeouts and the two minute warning in our back pocket but Sammy and Shanny :)
Not concerned at all. Ravens played a good game on defense with how they schemed things, but I bet we would beat them in a rematch if it were to come down to it.
Somewhat concerned, O-line, injuries and Shanahan lack of run game centered play calling.

Yes, i agree. The eagles game was clean. No turnovers at all, 3 penalties each team. just pure execution. That's an ass kicking. On Monday, SF beat themselves and gave the game to Baltimore. 5 turnovers, 100 yards penalties. The Ravens are a good team, but C'mon. we got beat, but not like it's being talked about. I'd love to see the re-match.

I agree but I feel this stems more from Shanny refusing to adjust his game plan. It took him a full half to get back to what we do best. This season, how often have we run empty backfield sets, yet the whole first half of this game was empty backfield. The only other game where we looked this bad (while having all our playmakers) was the 1st quarter of the Eagles game. As you can remember, he went pass heavy.

Level of concern is low since 3 of those scoring drives all took place after starting on the niners 35-40 yard range. Lamar only needed to drive the distance one time and that was in the late 3rd or early 4th after that defense was gassed. Still to only lose by 14 was amazing to me after it felt like the niners were down by 30.

I'm concerned about the injuries on the O line but I'm not worried about Kyle's play calling. The running game is fine. They were forced to pass more when they fell 3 scores behind. You can't keep running when you're down that much
You can't come out with an empty backfield against the Ravens. We are a 60/40 team. Brock is 23 and Hadn't seen this level of talent and speed. He's gonna have to run it 35-40 times between CMC and Mason then play action, play action roll outs. Their DE's are too talented. They'll stand up an bat everything into the air. That first interception was embarrassing on the all 22. Two receivers staying shallow. Nobody went to the corner of the endzone to clear that safety. Amateur hour won't work against that team. Should have been an easy TD. 🙄🙄🙄🫣

Low. It's all just entertainment. The NFL could disappear tomorrow and my life would continue 99.999999999% the same as it is now.

If they win, they win. If they don't, there's always next year. I've learned to just roll with things the last few years. People over invest in sports these days, especially the NFL.
The Raven ain't making the Super Bowl. Lol

they will choke like they always do

Deebo was open and Brock's pass was on target. Hamilton gets credit for a good play.

For some reason our fans expect every Niner play to work and every opponent's play to be defended. It's works both ways. Even the worst teams have some good players that are capable of making big plays. It's not always the coaches fault when something doesn't work. The players have to do their jib. Blocks and assignments get missed and the other team sometimes just makes a better play. This isn't Madden football.
Very low.

Obviously would've rather we won and I know I'm coping thinking this after the fact but I think this may help us long term.

1. We play better when people aren't acting like we're the greatest thing since sliced bread.
2. Brock MVP talk can go away so we can run our plays without trying to feature anyone and take us away from our strengths.
3. If we make it to the SB and Ravens are the matchup we have experience against them and will be hungry to make up for the disaster on Monday.

But overall definitely not worried due to the result. My main concern is our injuries. Need the team as healthy as possible for the playoffs so getting top seed is key.
