Your level of concern after Christmas meltdown

I have zero concern moving forward about this team outside of injuries.

This is key, and it is really the only thing that bothers me. We have one dominant offensive lineman and four also-rans. The four also-rans play a lot better when the dominant lineman plays. They are not as effective when he is out. It's as if he is the super glue that holds this thing together.

Injuries on the interior of the defensive line are also concerning. Javon Kinlaw should have stepped in and set the world on fire. But, while he was given a chance to do so, he did not. In fact, he looked kinda bad. That is not a good sign.

Kinlaw will probably be on another team next year.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. That knee robbed him of strength and explosiveness. Surgery, unfortunately, does not appear to have been successful.
Not concerned. We are a swagger and mojo type team. We need to have it from the get go. We unfortunately can't generate it mid game. Gotta bring that A game right away
Will be concerned if we don't win the last 2 games. Not worried about 1 game against a top team. Happens.

Yeah. We lost against the top team in the AFC on Christmas because of a bunch of wonky interceptions.

I was more concerned when we lost to Cleveland, Minn and Cincy. Although now we know those three teams were pretty good. Minn with cousins and Cincy with Burrows of course.
Brock played like dogs**t. The good news is that he never plays that bad. So he had the one bad game out of his system before the playoffs start where it really counts. Defense held up well in the first half after all those picks. We will see them again and we will learn from these mistakes
Not so concerned about the players. Fairly concerned about the knee jerk playcalling when things started to go south.

Immediately took the ball out of brocks hands and ran ran ran. Then after the next pick it was screen screen screen like every play.

The real problem was the pass rush dominating our oline. We should have seen a ton more wham tight end pulls and zone pulls, mixed in with runs and screens.

The fact that the plays got so one sided has me concerned as I thought shanahan had been adjusting far better this season... Getting cute like that in a close or losing game and harbaugh will take his lunch money in the Superbowl if it's close again and we aren't blowing the ravens out next time.

So, you dont see the connection between the line being dominated and the playcalling? LOL

Well I agree there the ravens pass rushers we're having a field day on our offensive lineman. This is a clear area of focus this off-season for SF.

I like how Brock aggressive in nature but it can come back to bite him at times. The Ravens game showed that he still has some maturing to do as a player.

I'm not concerned at this point because Baltimore is one of the best teams in the league and it happens. I'd like to see how they finish out the regular season before I pass judgement.

Just want to reflect on teams Purdy has beat so far:
- Miami
- Philadelphia
- Dallas
- Jax
- Pittsburgh
Brock Purdy looks like a hell of a lot better player than JimmyG so I expect a bounce back this week.

No there was an obvious connection because he did the same thing with Jimmy when things got bad. Its so predictable. He needs to be more subtle. You can't just immediately hand it off to CMC 9/10 times. He needs to mix in wham max protection, tight end pulls, screens and running plays.

You have to adjust the gameplan in ways that are less obvious and mix it up far more. Too extreme in the differences.

Baltimore knew he was going to do that so you have to mix it up and disguise it more than he did.

If he just heavy hands it again like he did there's no way for any success against any smart coach (Reid, harbaugh)...
Zero. We played a good team on Xmas day at home. Not surprised they came out flat. Just win against the skins and get the second seed. Sit everyone against the Lambs. We can beat any NFC team.on the road in the NFC championship.

#1 seed. We currently own it.

I know.
We need the bye next week based on all our injuries. Lambs are playing very well. It will be tough game.

I'm having a hard time with the idea that because we are so banged up now it would be better to purposefully play a wild card game and throw away the guarantee to be the home team in any playoff matchup in conference.

If the Lions were to upset the Cowboys this week we could fall to 3 in this scenario and face the Rams back to back weeks.

We will know after this week if we have the 2 seed. WC game at home. We would play the lowest seed, probably not the Lames.

See how healthy we are after W16...

No offense but this is stupid. First of all you can't sit everyone when you actually have to play a game.

Win and get the #1 seed so you don't actually have to play a game and can sit everyone.

We'll see what happens but first we gotta take care of the trip across the country to play Washington with a better and more experienced QB. It's a game we 100% should win but we felt that way about the Vikings as well.

I'd be surprised to see Rams sit anyone if they secure their playoff spot but either way odds will be we'll need to beat them to get that top seed. Get it done.
