My knowledge, and don't quote me but I think the 1 seeds play Saturday. That gives them more time to gear up for the Champ game. A perk of being the one seed. Now, will they continue that, ??..

Since the change to the 17 game schedule and 7 team playoff in each conference, the #1 seeds have played on Saturday of divisional round weekend.

It might propel them to kick Dallas's ass when they face off in the Divisional. I'm more confident in them now that they got screwed by the refs. I think the only setting is 1 seed plays Saturday and the other 1 seed plays Sunday

but last years 1s both played Saturday

This may be sacrilege, but it might work in our favor if LA beats us this weekend. If LA locks up the 6 seed (which they do win a win or GB loss), they will go play Detroit in the Wildcard. Meanwhile, GB will go play Dallas. Detroit can knock LA out, and Dallas will probably knock GB out. That sets up the Divisionals with us playing Philly or TB (I honestly think TB can win that game), and Detroit and Dallas can crush each other. You know Campbell is pissed and will have his team fired up. If Detroit wins, we can get a TB, Detroit pathway to the the SB

90% chance it's on Saturday, January 20th. All 1 seeds have played on Saturday of the Divisional round since 2019 IIRC.

EDIT: Turns out I was wrong; Chiefs had to play on Sunday in 2020. Otherwise though, 1 seeds have played on Saturday.

Barring any big injuries, we have no excuses to not win it all especially with HFA and bye.

It probably works better in our favor to play on Saturday. Less rest for the opposing team and we get more rest for the following game.

I personally liked the old format of 12 out of 32 teams getting in, vs. now, 14 out of 32.
But since the change in 2020:

2020:
--- #1 seed AFC, KC advanced to SB
--- #1 seed NFC, GB made it to NFCCG, but eliminated by TB

2021
--- #1 seed AFC, TEN eliminated in Divisional by Cincinnati
--- #1 seed NFC, GB eliminated in Divisional by 49ers

2022
--- #1 seed AFC, KC advanced to SB
--- #1 seed NFC, PHI advanced to SB (*** asterisk , because I'm petty like that , lol. After getting the Daniel Jones NYG and the 49ers w/o a QB)

Personally think it's a better setup this way. Makes sense to me to heavily reward the best regular season team, and 7 teams allows for more football for us and more money for the wonderful owners.
