49ERS vs Packers Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Divisional Round

Cowherd may be worse than Skip Bayless. These guys flip flop more than anyone. After Love and the packers started out 2-5, Cowherd said that "Love was not it" and that "LaFLeur can't even call plays that he wants to because Love is so limited." "Love can't play without training wheels." "This guy is not a franchise QB." Go back and listen. It is on Youtube. Cowherd is a complete idiot.

I find it interesting that love only has 2 300 yard games this year. Not knocking him just thought that stat was weird. If you actually go back and watch the Dallas game, you won't be as impressed with them as everyone else is. This game got completely out of hand by mistakes by the Cowboys early on. Dak had two INT's early that handed GB 14 points. I don't look at like GB dominated Dallas. Dallas completely imploded and built a hole they couldn't get out off.

They need someone to root for against Purdy.

Not at all sure Love is the better QB. You could easily make the argument for Purdy. Whole season and over the long haul he really was better. Love improved recently against mostly bad teams. But was bad prior to that.

The Packers lost to the lowly Giants in December. 'Nuff said

Imo dismissing GB is a mistake. They are playing very good and Love has played really well. They don't know they should lose.
I hope we can run the ball very well against them and I hope we see an improved Niner defense from the last few games of the regular season.
We should see a boost with the return of a few key guys, but to act like GB has no chance is foolish, not to mention if you're playing the odds, GB is due against us.

If anything, the fact that GB destroyed Dallas in Dallas should make anyone and everyone wary of this GB team. I think the Cowboys bought into their own hype. What was that quote from Dak a few days before the game ? Something about him and his Louis Vuitton (LV) bags getting ready to go to Las Vegas ?

Green Bay played a good game, and Dallas added to it by shooting themselves in the foot on several drives. But let's not forget Green Bay basically took a back door to get into the playoffs, losing to teams like NY. You can never count out a Shanahan coach because they can scheme their offenses. We just have to play mistake free football, and I suspect the 49ers will be taking GB VERY SERIOUSLY this Saturday.
Hilarious seeing packer fans online calling purdy a system qb. Ummmm, do they not realize their qb runs the same fn system?!?! Bozos
Is it Saturday yet?
There have been a few more packer fans in here than I thought there would be. Some that I didn't even know were packer fans until this week.
Is anyone picking the Niners? Hot damn it's pro Packers everywhere like we aren't the #1 seed. We had 11 double digit wins! But no, F the Niners we're all going to pick the Packers because of recency bias.

I'm letting this get to me because I'm home on paternity leave and have nothing better to do but watch pundits on YouTube pick the Packers. They list all the reasons they are great. Then when it comes to us it's all about Purdy. Well Purdy has to prove himself (even tho he already did). They don't mention a 100% healthy defense with AA coming back. They don't mention the enforcer JJ coming back. Hargrave and AA are finally healthy together once again. I haven't seen any real analysis for the Niners. We must be boring to them and it's more fun to list why the underdog will win.

For real. At first I saw mostly everyone taking the Niners but as the week has gone by, it's mostly people picking GB.
Either way, I think it will be a good game. If it's close until halftime, I feel like the Niners will play stronger in the second half and pull away.

Well one thing is for sure. I don't think our mediocre pass rush (full of star studded players) will do much to hinder Jordan Love. There's no reason to believe that the unit, which has underperformed this entire season, will all of a sudden turn on a switch and beat Love down. I'm hoping that AA can help plug the run and make the Packers one dimensional, thus allowing our LBs and secondary just play the pass and force errors.

Well one thing is for sure, you have some of the most idiotic posts I've seen on here in a long, long time. I'm sure many would agree with me, but your doom and gloom posts are not realistic and very flawed.

Our pass rush, especially since Chase Young came to our team has improved dramatically so you don't know what you're talking about. Also, we haven't had Armstead playing for what 6 games and Hargrave for a couple games yet we STILL have got a lot of pressures and have done pretty well with sacks. Not to mention, we LEAD the NFL in interceptions. Please stop talking you're just embarrassing yourself. Thanks anyway though for your warped opinions……."I'm Ron Burgundy???"

underperformed all season but basically has the same stats as last year. thats curious.

We have 4 more sacks this year than last season. That's the good thing of having multiple players who can rush the passer.

I do think it has been somewhat underwhelming recently but that can also be explained with the fact that we've had Armstead out since the Eagles game and he's a big piece of our DL puzzle. The other part was we played a bunch of mobile QBs where we have to rush a little more disciplined for - Hurts plan was basically keep him in the pocket and it worked to perfection.

If you think about it we've only had 4 games worth of the Bosa, Armsead, Hargrave and Young grouping.

Jags - 5 sacks
Bucs - 4 sacks
Seahawks - 6 sacks
Eagles - 3 sacks

That's like 38% of our team sacks in 24% of the games.

We'll see how the boys respond and how Arik looks after the long layoff for him.

First the Rams, now the Packers

definitely the early part of the game is the key. GB knows they must score quickly to have a shot, and SF has not played in a minute. The first quarter will be crucial. If SF can hold or get ahead after 1 quarter, I love the chances even more, but you let GB start fast, it's much more of a game. Recall that SF has gone into the half trailing 3 times this season, and they lost all 3. Just hold course and play our game.

I just don't see how they are going to stop us from turning around and handing it to CMC 30 times this game successfully. The narrative is forcing Purdy into mistakes. There won't be mistakes if we rush for 200 which I am expecting. The real narrative is how they plan on stopping CMC.

Yes Dallas totally discounted the Packers much how some of the fans are doing in here. Guaranteed some of those Dallas players had the "These guys lost to Tommy Cutlets and the Giants!" and "They allowed Carolina to score 30 on them!" and figured they would just coast and still win at home.

Well I can guarantee you our players aren't doing anything stupid like that considering what they just saw go down. This is now a team that's dangerous and they're in our way to the ultimate goal.

This team isn't going to overlook them and we're going to give them our best game and further show why Dallas was in another tier from us.

I hope we don't hand it to CMC 30 times. If we're smart we'll spread the run reps because Mitchell and Mason both hit like trucks. Save CMC and we should be able to run well with all 3 backs.

Cowherd is no different than most people. Go back and read comments on this forum regarding several Niner players and some QB from other teams. JG was great according to many. Then he was garbage. Brock was a camp arm when we drafted him. Now some think he's a top 5 QB. Everyone flip flops so I don't fault the radio guys for doing it too. Love was bad at the beginning of the year. Why wouldn't people think he wasn't the guy. Then he turned it around so they jump on the band wagon. Hurts was thought to be average at best then he had a great year in 2022.

I don't understand why fans get so upset when some media person says something they don't like. It's what they do. It's what they get paid for. They aren't supposed to just report scores. They are paid to stir things up and make people respond. It's okay to disagree with them but don't let it bother you.
