This group of 49ers has tasted too much disappointment in the playoffs to be over confident, imo. If anything, I'm more worried they'll be too tight and not play loose to start this game. I think the 49ers are the ones that might need a punch in the mouth to get going since they haven't played a meaningful down in 3 weeks. But it's a veteran group outside of Brock, they are focused from top to bottom.
Agreed. Largely though, the player interviews sound like they have a good balance of "relaxed, yet very much focused on what's at hand."
It feels like, similar to the Cowboys & Eagles games where the opponent was chirping, the 49ers have an approach akin to "We're coming to take care of business."
For everyone underestimating the Packers, I'd say though that they're peaking at the right time and they look sharp. They have talented players and scheme, and are beginning to believe in themselves. That's a dangerous team.
For everyone overestimating the Packers, understandable, they looked amazing versus the Cowboys. But everything the Packers do on offense, we do better and have more proven playmakers. We have a stronger defense, while the Packers defense hasn't shown themselves to be anywhere near an elite defense like, say, the Ravens.
My guess is that the Packers keep it close in the first half, but we pull away in the third quarter due to our talent difference and win by 10.
