Kyle's like 5th or worse in COTY running which is insane imo.

He needs to win the SB.
Kyle is in that gray zone that all good successful coaches that never won a SB are in.

When you're young and relatively new, anytime you achieve team success you look like the up and coming superstar. It's why Daboll won in last year. When you're a bonified stud like Andy Reid and Bill Belichick, you dont take home participation trophies because you're thought of as on another level in the league.

Kyle is in that middle area. He's too good and too established to serve as the shiny new object for the league. Having a yearly playoff team is expected at this point. But until he wins a SB, he's not going to get the same respect as Reid, Belichick, and hell even guys like Tomlin and Harbaugh who won their rings over a decade ago.

Kyle MUST win that Superbowl, and this is the year to do it. It would be a Greek TRAGEDY if he failed.

100 percent. The list is awful. They got 1 and 8 right at least.

BUT if you look at the matchup, it favors SF in multiple ways….

-Love is vastly worse vs zone. Guess who plays a ton of zone? He's good vs the blitz. Who doesn't blitz a ton and rushes 4 guys?
-They're bottom of the barrel at stopping the run. Guess who's top 5?
-They blow at defending the TE. Guess who has an all-pro TE?
which team just played over 80 snaps on defenses on a short week on the road?
-who's playing at home & coming in the healthiest they've been since week 1?
-which head coach has owned the other?
-Kyle has carved up Joe Barry's defenses.

etc etc etc.

The only way these doesn't play out in favor for SF is it we turn the ball over 4/5 times and they play perfect football. Any given Sunday, but there's a reason they're 9.5 favorites.

👍👍👍👍

If i were the Niners, I would take the ball first at kickoff. Accomplishes two things:

1) Gets the team back in the groove. If there is indeed 'rust', I'd rather see it on offense to start the game than the defense. If we come out flat on defense, and let GB score on its opening drive, the team might start to push early. So let the offense eat some clock, let the guys settle on the sideline, and then lets go.

2) Makes GB think on the sideline. I think Lafleur made a great call taking the ball first vs the Cowboys. It forced Dak to watch from the sidelines, and the more GB succeeded, the more antsy he got. I'd like to put that pressure on Love. Let him watch from the sideline as the adrenaline is flowing. He's more likely to make a mistake when he gets the ball second....

So if they play rusty on offense to open it up, how does that help anything? They then lose the advantage of lapping GB in the second half. Something that Kyle loves!

this team has been here before. A ton. Nothing changes if the packers score first. That game got out of hand because the Dallas D played undisciplined football. Dak imploded like he always does in the playoffs. Their coach sucks & is complacent. Dude is just happy to be on TV and win during the regular season.

Id rather take my chance playing from ahead (getting the ball first), then risking falling behind and then playing the strategy game like Dallas (lap GB before / after half so close the margin). Im not so afraid of Green Bay trying to get the 2 for 1 to close the half. I think thats a young team. I think they're game plan will be to keep it close until the 4th. Lafleur in our previous meetings has been poor with time management and play calling in crunch times. I'd like to take the ball first, hopefully run it down the field and score first to make a statement. Put the pressure on the youngest team in the NFL. Dont let them get confident with a good opening drive...

No idea who that guy is, but good to know. Whether it's the slot CB or the third LB, Kyle will highlight the weaker link in the GB defense via personnel by using Jennings or Juice.

does Alexander shadow receivers?

If not, i would have Aiyuk on his side to test that ankle

My only disagreement here is Dallas played a lot of zone last week compared to their usual man that they always play and he carved them up. I think our zone coverages are better though so theres that.

it was a bad gameplan/planning

I love it when Jennings or Juice score TD's in any given game. It's normally a sign that the 49er offense is humming.

It will be interesting to see what we do. I'd stick to deferring.

You go out there and let your defense make a statement. "You may have done what you wanted vs Dallas but you're in our house now and we're not Dallas"
Then get the ball back on a short field and get it into the endzone to make it 7-0.

We did the same thing Week 1 and post bye vs the Jags.

It also shows you're not afraid of them. If they score, it's not the first time we've let a team drive to open up the game, just go out there and answer back and then adjust on D and get stops.
