49ERS vs Packers Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Divisional Round

Yea. I have watched a few packers games myself. Their defense is 9th best in the league in passing yards per game. Have only 3 less sacks than the 49ers D and are tied 3rd best in the league in passing TD's allowed per game.

but they have a low amount of attempts against them (because they are very bad against the run)

3rd lowest int %
Their Y/A allowed and AY/A allowed are both bottom 10

Dolphins over Chiefs - Tua outplays Mahomes in a shootout
Bills over Steelers - Hottest team in NFL will dominate
Cowboys over Packers - Too much talent on defense for Love's first playoff game
Lions over Rams - Lions edge Rams in a close one at home
Buccaneers over Eagles - Eagles limping into the playoffs lose to a limping Mayfield

these are my picks outside dolphins over chiefs

there will be no shootout in those conditions

Offenses run the ball on them a lot, yes. They allow 4.4 yards per carry but a majority of NFL defenses are in that 4.2-4.4 ypc allowed range. The fact that they have 43 sacks but don't get passed on a lot may be a reason why they don't get passed on a lot.

The losses:

1987 - Fluke loss (best team in the league)
1990 - Craig injuries, 3peat pressure, Giants got lucky
1992 - Dallas was better
1997 - Green Bad had our #
2019 - Mahomes preferential treatment (maybe best team in the league)

Now for the wins:

1981 - Destiny
1984 - Best team in league
1989 - Best team in league
1994 - Best team in league

4 Super Bowl wins, 5 non super Bowl wins

Looking at this pragmatically:

Fluke loss like 1987 would be unusual
No real key injuries that would hinder us like 1990
We're better than Dallas this time around for sure (and they've yet to show a 1994 level resurgence)
Nobody has our # in the NFC

Only thing I see here is some kind of b******t nonsense with Chiefs/Ravens or maybe Bills, to promote the flashier QB.

I damn well believe in this team this year because we finally have a real QB. That's the difference we didn't have before, and it is what will carry us to the end, FINALLY.

that's how I recall 49er postseason football, it starts with grass and is a mud bowl by the end

Lol

i said this yesterday but I'll repeat - the second greatest benefit of winning home field is that we don't have to play in this kind of crap this post season. No hostile field and no blizzards. Lol

I want good ol' Al Michaels

Chris Collinsworth or Greg Olsen.

Lol the main thing here is that the 49ers HAVE won Superbowl's when they get the #1 seed. Not many teams out there can say they have this history.

Love it nothing better than having breakfast and being all toasty watching at home some snow weather playoff football ha
I imagine we are all rooting pretty hard for the Lions, i can't root for Rams
