- Niners favored for all the right reasons
- Packers playing with house money and have immense chemistry right now
- Three keys to the game as I see it are Zach Tom on Bosa, Kittle going off potentially and Packers DL versus CMC

Tom stonewalled Micah and has played pro-bowl level most of the year and so he gives Love a chance to not always be running for his life. Packers have been mostly trash against athletic TE's and Kittle on his A game could go off like Ferguson did yesterday. Lastly, although the Packers run defense has greatly improved as of late (specifically our middle run defense), Gary gets sucked in way too often and allows runs outside right for big chunks of yards. I see the latter two occurring this weekend as well.

Absolutely Love Purdy's story and happy to see him succeeding, however he has shown some questionable decision making at times during the Niners losing streak. If he does gift the ball a few times, that's really the only chance I see of the Packers hanging in there. That being said, with a healthy team, home field advantage and a superior roster I feel that this game will be something like 38 to 24 in favor of the Niners as they pound the ball and Kittle opens up the soft underbelly.

Good luck Saturday!

Great post bud. Everyone is talking about the injury to Jaire Alexander but I wanted to get your opinion on losing OLB Kingsley and how that affects Green Bay's rotation.

I think you are right. That said, there is an emerging argument here that Brock Purdy has become the exception not the rule. Just look who's still in:

- BAL > Jackson
- KC > Mahomes
- BUF[likely] > Allen
- HOU > Stroud
- GB > Love
- PHIL[probably] > Hurts
- SF > Purdy
- LA > Goff

It would seem like the tall, fast, big arm QBs have been owning it thus far. I think Purdy is a good QB and he's going to have his shot to prove he's elite starting this Saturday. Are we swimming against the current with Brock? We're about to find out.

It's worth noting also that Montana was a winner, but he was never elite in the sense that Elway or Marino were (physically gifted).

So, Montana wasn't elite, Brady wasn't elite, Purdy isn't elite because they can't throw it 70 yards and run fast enough? Rocket arms and running QBs have been mostly fool's gold since Randall Cunningham. Let's see who hoists the Lombardi. My money is on Purdy.

Respect to the GB poster. I was going to ask the same thing because of Aiyuk's matchup.

Hard to argue with that! GB and SF has been a fun rivalry and I've never hated the team in the way I might the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers did everyone a favor in dispatching Dallas. I'll try to counter with some observations of my own in the same spirit as your post:

  • The Dallas game was Love's coming out party. If he has another game like the one he had this weekend the Packers are going win.
  • The 49ers have had trouble with mobile QBs in the past.
  • For GB,
    • I think they're going to need to get A.Jones going early. He was hurting Dallas all day but I'm not sure he's going to have it so easy in SF.
    • Pass protection. If SF can get pressure without blitzing so often it could be a long day for GB. Dallas had to bring a lot of pressure and Love made them pay for it.
    • Defensively, containing CMC has got to be #1. If he gets going it allows everything else to flow. They'll also need to clog the intermediate routes as Purdy excels in that area. Easier said than done. Only team to really stop it was Baltimore and they have two of the leagues best MLB's.

Loves performance against Dallas really makes this game difficult to project. What we're definitely going to see next Saturday is two of the best young QB's go at it on primetime TV. 49ers can't lose this one otherwise i'll never hear the end of it. My brother in law and best friend are Packers fans.

We can definitely agree on the hate for the Cowboys. American's team my a$$. Have always liked the class of the Niners organization and tradition. There are certain teams that seem to have thugs on them at times and I've never felt that of the Niners although they've broken my heart a few times in the playoffs (Owen's catch and Kapernick's running).

Excited to watch but level set that all indications are the two best teams (Ravens and Niners) will be left standing for a rematch in the Super Bowl. Would be a great game as I think a healthier Armstead and Greenlaw reduces some of Lamar's backbreaking runs.

Part of what's helped the Packers defensive resurgence as of late has been it's depth and ability to keep players fresh. Losing Enagbare definitely hurts for the OLB rotation but their 1st round pick this year (Van Ness) was drafted for this and may be able to prevent much of a drop off. Getting back Alexander was huge too as the Packers are able to mix man coverage (with Alexander on the opposing teams best receiver - Aiyuk) as well as the hated zone coverage. The Packers still have Joe Barry at DC though and so will find a way to allow other teams to score at will at times.

Only way this game is close is if the Packers find a way to keep Love upright and are able to win the turnover battle, otherwise things could get ugly for us just like the Cowboys found out in week #5.

What Montana and Brady had in common was that they were clutch. They were at their best when the lights were brightest.

Linebackers are who we feast on. Bummer about that loss. I heard Alexander would not have gone back in even if the game was close. I hate to see great players go down but that seems like it's going to be a game time decision on a short week and potentially, a big loss. Either way, it's the playoffs and you just never know who's going to step up. With Kyle and Lafleur, they'll be playing against a mirror this weekend. Good luck *but not too much.
Stop the run and run. Pressure the qb. Thats my plan every game lol

ya, and make a big play in the 4th quarter if it's needed.
I thought some had said that the game was gonna be at 130PM not 530.
I'm showing 19:15pm CST or 17:15pm PST. Niners are the big draw and so primetime game. As it's on FOX, guessing it will be Burkhardt and Olsen again for commentators. Thank God it's not Buck and Aikman.

And Cheers to the prior posters!

I'm in as well

If the Packers lose you have a great up in coming team. I remember having back to back Hall of Famers and then to Garcia who was a pro bowler as well.

I believe the experience of the Niners and all of the talent we will win, but it's the NFL and stuff happens.

Enjoy the game....

I miss Aikman and Buck. I think Burkhardt and Olsen are terrible, they're also real slow on the rules and replays. Seem to miss the obvious alot.
What I learned from DAL game vs GB is that GB played free nothing to lose and DAL did not hit the field with the vicious calculated intensity required to overwhelm GB early and instead they got the tables turned on them got behind couldn't stop a nosebleed and got stomped

We just have to ensure we come out with our hair on fire and get the crowd behind us early and then stomp them out. I don't want us coming out flat but instead come out all the way turned up vs this young team
