The defensive backfield a shell of itself? Really? I don't think so.
Don't think all you want. This vanilla ass scheme sucks, and Wilks needs to go.

Check out the defensive backfield, and bear in mind the injuries. Wilks has done a good job there, in his first year.

The one thing that has always concerned me and I believe we were all worried about this when he was hired was the run defense. With all the talent on defense the 49ers shouldn't be this bad at stopping the run.

Zero sacks.
Average Pressure.
This has to change.

If our defensive backfield is the part of the defense that is doing well, then there is a huge coaching problem. Wilks sucks, and needs to go.

Dude can only work with the tools he was given. 14 points (outside of the Kick Return 20-yard drive) is not a backbreaker.

We don't have any run stoppers Hargrave is pretty below avg in that regard, Chase Young and Gregory aren't here to stop run either. We have AA who is coming off injury. Fred's a beast, but the LB level needs those guys on the DL.

we allowed 21 points and the red zone D was amazing and pressure caused 2 interceptions
their 2 biggest pass plays came from when our defenders slipped

the run d was going to take a hit with hargrave he is below below-average run defender but a plus-pass defender in the interior.

Yup add in no TDs in first half. 4th down stop. They had a TD to Doubs I believe but for Ward driving on the ball and getting a pass deflection. GB is pretty unique in keeping the QB clean, DAL couldn't get home either, no one gets home vs GB.

I thought the D played well. GB got to the red zone 3 times in the first half and came away with just 6 points. Pressured Love into 2 picks when he threw only 1 in the past , what, 9 games?

i felt we got Love out of the pocket a lot its what caused the 2 interceptions and he made some great throws
also bailed out by some PI calls against Ambry. the biggest plays by the Packers pass offense was based on players slipping and even then we allowed 21 points (2TD)
If our D is so good allowing 21 points and less than 200 yards passing is a bad performance people really need to be way more objective hell we allowed 330 total yards

No No No.
this defense has underachieved. You don't need stats to see that. For the amount of money we've invested on that unit, and given pro bowlers / all pros at every level, this should be a top ranked defense week in and week out. It's obviously not, and the dip is clearly from bringing an outsider (Wilks) into the mix and not playing to our players strengths.
I hope some team is dope enough to hire him but they won't and Shanny will retain him and it sucks.

i mean looking at the stats less than 200 yards passing and 330 total yards allowed with 2 int and a 4th down stop
people complaining about the defense this game when you look at whole game is kind of a ridiculous take
