For my memory, he had one really bad throw that could be attributed to grip issues… his first. I don't recall every incompletion but I do remember he had two throws on slants over the middle that were knocked down by defenders. Those were decision making issues not accuracy problems.

Scoring 16 points in a half is pretty good.

Yes, the first throw was bad. The other incompletions could definitely be for different reasons then grip issues. I agree, and thanks for coming with a reasonable take. But like I said, its too small a sample size to make definite conclusions either way.

Oh you're taking rain seriously like any football player gives a s**t.

Do you contend that heavy rain has no influence on a football game?

If it does have influence, how?

Definitely agree the sample size is small.

I've seen a couple people reference his time at Iowa St and the worse weather conditions that area deals with in general. I don't believe Brock played in rain or snow there. He played in some cold games though.

I'm also not sure why people think rain would potentially hurt us more than GB.

Lance was gonna be HOF, and then, precipitation.
Precipitation precipitated his downfall

When both teams are affected by the weather it comes down to execution. Ball security is all I care about in the rain. Now if I was a coach I wouldn't even put a punt returner back to return punts I'd bring an extra rusher every punt. The chance for muffed punts is way to high and typically on a wet field the ball dies as soon as it hits the soggy grass.

Our offense is made to thrive with a limited downfield passing attack. Pound the run and complete short, safe, passes with the YAC monsters.

He did play a few games in rain. Most were very light. He did play in one heavy rain game against Drake. Thats an FCS school and Iowa State was ranked 24th in the country at the time and they just barely won 27-24. Purdy stats were 15/22 for 153 yards with one TD and one fumble lost. Not very efficient, but then again it was in heavy rain so cant expect to be moving the ball down deep down the field.

I cant definitely say the rain would hurt us more then the Packers. The possibility that is could, is a concern. That is all.

I dont disagree with your reasoning. But you are basically saying that when the ball is wet, there can be physical issues gripping it. And then laughing at the notion at the slight possibility that Purdy might have physical issues gripping it.

A slippery ball affects any hand size is what I'm saying.

And perfectly equally? Someone who can just barely palm a basketball and Victor Wembenyama would be equally affected being asked to palm a soaking wet basketball?

To be fair, devout Christians might have less experience gripping certain things...

You're talking a difference of 1 inch in terms of hand size and it really doesn't say anything about grip strength. It's unknowable how much rain will affect the grip of either QB. Definitely two young players with not a lot of experience.

What I do know is its more likely that the passing games being limited in whatever form or fashion is probably going to have a greater affect on GB than SF, especially given the defensive talent each unit is facing.
