We experimented with some 5-2 schemes early in the year and had success

I wonder if we bring it back for this game

Is the line underperforming, or are teams scheming around them at all costs?

With as banged up the Lions OL is if we can't get to JG it will be a mega failure. So much money on this DL. It's time for them to do something.

They have a backup at LG and their C is banged up but he's always banged up so it doesn't change things a whole lot. I'm sure they'll do everything they can to protect the backup LG.

49ers DL is simply going to have to be elite all game long.

Basically be what they're paid to be.
The 49ers win because CMC > 100 yds + TD, Purdy no INTs, defense gets a pick, Aiyuk + Kittle + JJ > 150 yds, defense kept the other team below 21.
The 49ers lose because Purdy threw 1-2 picks, DLine continues to suck (consistently!!!), Ambry Thomas + bad safety play, kicker missed FGs, no Deebo.
If the 49ers win because they were lucky, fine, we'll take it.

Is "elite" considered "tier 1?" Haha j/k
Brock's eyes lit up when talking about Deebo in the presser. Deebo is in, no doubts about it LG

Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, S. Oregon and Iowa are NOT rooting for the fricking Lions…

I guarantee NV is not rooting for the Lions haha. TONS of Niner fans here lol and ready to spend money..would be best to have SF/KC for max profit. 💰 🤑

Hawaii loves the 49ers too. Got a massive car rental upgrade simply because I had a 49er credit card.

Haven't seen that 5DL front in awhile. I recall it was used more on passing downs, but that's one way to overcommit on run defense and dare DET to pass on early downs.

I do think that they need to throw some unexpected looks at the Lions, show some new wrinkles on offense and defense to get them off their gameplan.
Man our special team coverage sucks. We give teams the average starting field position of 26 yards, which is 3rd worst in the nfl. 33% of our kick offs are returned, 5th worst in the nfl.

I wish we would boot it in the endzone more. We would give worse field position by a yard.

Its crazy. And when WE return it (unless it's deebo) guaranteed we're starting at the 15. Can't remember the last positive result

The guy we hired is an ex-Seahawks coach, you actually think he'd want to make us good?

The dude just went over Shannys whole gameplan. Said they will shift to one side but run towards the other, or shift and will play action towards that side... Shanny better make that fool look foolish

he has like a 5 year olds understanding of kyle's offense, this is gonna be easy lol

They are all worried about stopping our run game and playaction. Watch Brock come out and carve up that crappy pass defense and hit em with the run game in the 2nd half.

The problem is that 49ers aren't a one-dimensional team. But one way to stop Kyle's run game is to have a 5 man DLine scheme out there. That's where I'd start if I was Dan Campbell.

i think Ambry plays much better on Sunday, i didn't realize that he hadn't played since the WAS game. The rust thing is real. Also, Lenoir is becoming a star. Said in the game thread during the seattle game, but Im expecting a big game from our secondary. Starting to get pretty excited.
