With the "great defense" of the 49ers, and even "greater DLine" (!), how can the AFC (Ravens, Chiefs or Bills) ever compete with the 49ers!
Gimme me a freakin break.
This team better fix the d**n DLine (> 80 million/year worth) before the Lions game.

This is a matchup nightmare for Detroit. On defense, Detroit is AWFUL against the pass. They allowed 7.8 yards/attempt on the season (2nd worst in the league). Their numbers vs the run are actually good but they just gave up 5.9 yards/attempt to TB who is anemic in the running game.
Detroit will have question marks on the offensive line. Starting guard Jonah Jackson is likely going to be out and Ragnow is banged up. Goff will be a statute back there in the pocket so there is no threat of extending plays outside of the pocket in the passing game.
I think the Packers were the better team down the stretch and were a worse matchup for us. I'm not a betting man but I think 49ers -7 is a joke. I think we blow the doors off Detroit and win by double digits easily.
I heard this going into the packers game too. Packers were a s**tty defense, gave up these and those yards, etc. Then we win by the skin of our teeth

I'm currently watching the bills and chiefs defense do jack s**t. Lol they're like a turnstile.
Our defense isn't perfect but it does a good job. We played against a top 3 performing offense with a top 2 pass blocking. The leading rusher in the nfl over the last 4-5 weeks. You expect to shut em out?
we held the hottest qb in the league to less than 200 yards and generated more turnovers than he's had in the last 3 months.
Gimme a break. Lmao so many of these takes are pathetic. We have a lot we need to improve upon but this js the f**kin playoffs. Everyone's good. They were arguably the hottest team in the NFC bracket and potentially the entire playoffs - just took apart the 2 seed at home who hadn't lost a game there in nearly 2 years.

2011: 49ers vs the red hot Giants team that "plays" in the mecca of the world, country wanted Patriots vs Giants again.
2012: 49ers vs the lovable hall of fame player playing his final game
2013: 49ers vs the overlooked in the draft Russell Wilson and young Seahawks team who looked like they were going to go on a dynasty run at the time
2019: 49ers vs the new face of the league qb and a lovable head coach looking for his first championship as a head coach
2021: 49ers vs the lovable young head coach Sean McVay and Mathew Stafford looking for his first championship after struggling on a bad Lions team throughout his career
2022: this might be the one year where the 49ers weren't "villains" due to everyone hating the Eagles, but they certainly would've been villains going into that Super Bowl
2023: 49ers vs lovable underdog Lions who are finally good after over a century of being awful, and if they win that game it will be 49ers vs lovable Lamar jackson/ Taylor Swift/ lovable bills mafia looking for their first championship after so much suffering in the 90s
so tired of this narrative. 49ers haven't won a Super Bowl in nearly 30 years, but the hatred for this team has gone absolutely nowhere

Packers were the most dangerous team in the playoffs imo. They could've easily go on to beat the top 3 seeds had their kicker not miss that kick.

Zero sacks last game. I don't think you are saying the DLine is playing well. For the playoffs, the great players need to step up. If the goal is the SB win, the standards and expectations need to be high. You can't hope to scrape thru every playoff game, luck eventually runs out.

D line needs to get more pressure. I was disappointed jn tben last game but it wasn't like it was some chump o line - that's an o line that nearly no one has been able to disrupt over the last few months.
the d as a whole wasn't bad though. That's what I'm saying - they did a lot to keep us in that game. Same against the ravens - it was our offense with the five turnovers and they barely had a lead on us.
I've seen teams win every playoff game by 3 points and win it all. This year has had a lot of blowouts but typically all play off games are close. I'm not worried about that. I think we will turn it around and tighten it up.
