Young wasn't worth the rental 3rd we traded for because Jackson performs the same, (minimal pass rush). Hargrave was a literal ghost last night didn't even know he played along with armstead in the middle. Bosa is a one man pass rush but even he is too slow once the QB breaks pocket. We blitz more now than we ever did with Demeco yet we get less sacks and pressure so my only assumption is it has to be wilks scheme getting shut down by the offensive coordinators schemes.
Opponents *know* we have an elite DLIne. I re-watched the GB game and the Packers were doing what the other teams who beat us did. Mix in good quick hitters to keep the DLine off balance and quick passes to avoid 3rd and longs and that 49er pass rush. Yes - Defense didn't generate *any sacks* but there were two turnovers in that game that were priceless.
As for the 49ers OLIne, they were faced with 5 man DLines all game. Not every play, but it seemed like most 3rd down and longs they mixed in blitzes and five man DLines. Packers did a good job of confusing the blocking of the 49ers OLine and bringing blitzes that Purdy and the protections didn't pick up. 49ers got some pressure on Love, but key is that 49ers didn't blitz much at all in the game and still got pressures and two turnovers on Love.
