What happened to brown

He played terrible and got replaced.

Oh ok thx

Based on what Kyle said it didn't sound like he's starting again but maybe will rotate him in a few snaps?
What I don't understand is we have so many resources dedicated to the Dline that is built to get to the QB yet just like the Christmas game we were never close to a sack last night. Young wasn't worth the rental 3rd we traded for because Jackson performs the same, (minimal pass rush). Hargrave was a literal ghost last night didn't even know he played along with armstead in the middle. Bosa is a one man pass rush but even he is too slow once the QB breaks pocket. We blitz more now than we ever did with Demeco yet we get less sacks and pressure so my only assumption is it has to be wilks scheme getting shut down by the offensive coordinators schemes.

So it's ridiculous that the first superbowl I was old enough to remember was a loss and not just getting beat by a better team, but one that was taken from us by two gifted touchdowns? I can feel however I want to feel, I don't need your validation

Looks like you completely missed the point of my post… but you're free to feel how you want to feel regardless.

Would you have preferred losing in the divisional or championship round instead of the SB?

Ofcourse not. Anytime you get a chance to go get a championship it's better than not getting there. All I said was that was the most gut wrenching sports memory I have and I have felt differently about football ever since. I was completely emptied out emotionally after that. Would not even talk to people for a few days. Last time we lost I was pissed but it was not even close to the same feeling because we lost legit on self inflicted wounds

This was me entire point. We agree, lol.

No doubt that was a brutal loss. They always are when you can taste it.

only 34 sacks for the team this season. we did lead the league with 20 int, so there was a trade-off, but the low sack numbers are curious considering the talent.

Opponents *know* we have an elite DLIne. I re-watched the GB game and the Packers were doing what the other teams who beat us did. Mix in good quick hitters to keep the DLine off balance and quick passes to avoid 3rd and longs and that 49er pass rush. Yes - Defense didn't generate *any sacks* but there were two turnovers in that game that were priceless.

As for the 49ers OLIne, they were faced with 5 man DLines all game. Not every play, but it seemed like most 3rd down and longs they mixed in blitzes and five man DLines. Packers did a good job of confusing the blocking of the 49ers OLine and bringing blitzes that Purdy and the protections didn't pick up. 49ers got some pressure on Love, but key is that 49ers didn't blitz much at all in the game and still got pressures and two turnovers on Love.
What the f**k. Detroit's last outdoor game was a 28-13 loss to the Bears. The time before that was a nailbiter vs chargers on November 12.

Green Bay *beat* Dallas. That's a good team. Matt LaFleur is a *LOT* better coach than McCarthy and he has a **LOT** better offensive scheme than Dallas. So I think 49ers will make it to the Superbowl, they just have to take care of the Lions. A healthy Deebo should result in a route of the Lions, Deebo missing will definitely make it a much harder game to win.

To this day I feel there are some Niner fans that would have rather had the team fold and disappear forever (including any future chances at more championships) then lose a SB and end the 5-0 SB team record.

Super Bowl 5 - 0 record is long gone. That was Eddie D.

Yorks = 0 - 2. No Super Bowl wins.

Sucks but once they put in the Eddie Debartolo rule to end his Superbowl rein, it was game over for the old system. Unfortunately for 49er fans. I think Parity and a more wide open passing game has made the game more entertaining, but at the expense of the 49er organization, IMO.

You know how many calls GB got away with in those matchups in the 90s ? Go watch the 1995 NFC divisional. Then watch the 1996 MNF (Don Beebe was down). The Packers got the brunt of awful calls go their way during those matchups. We were owed. And truth be told, we owned that Packers team in that Wild Card game. If TO hadn't played like a dope and killed every drive we had, it wouldn't have been a close game.

I think bad calls happen to both of us in those 90s games. Didn't you guys comeback after being down 21-0 in the 1996 Divisional playoffs and tie it at 21? Then we scored 2 Touchdowns and won 35-21.

Yup, got to start with the Bill Walsh standard. To win championships, you have to beat the opposing TEAM **And** the Refs. That's how Walsh did it in the past. A lot harder now with the Cap and Free agency, but I think if you can rise your team to that standard, Superbowl wins will happen for us again.

It's weird cause Farve owned you guys but he couldn't beat Dallas. Dallas owned Farve. SF owns Rodgers and Love but both Rodgers and Love own Dallas. I don't understand it.

Dallas was fierce in the 90s. Top notch team and my worst nightmare lol.

I blame Seifert for giving them Haley. Five super bowl rings for that Bi-polar hall of famer.
