If there's one thing pocket QBs don't like, it's pressure in their face.

They'll be missing a star interior guard and their star center is super banged up. Hargrave & Armstead have no excuse to have a good game. they should be super disruptive.

I'm sorry but they may be getting pressures but they really aren't getting home or affecting the QB that much.

we had 2 interceptions last game. The game winning one came by forcing love to leave the pocket the first one came from a chase young pressure

we lead the NFL in interceptions and are 4th in QB hits (despite blitzing the 3rd least)

I think our pass rush needs to step up but they haven't been bad. Packers O line is top notch.

im more concerned about run D than pass rush.

If they could have prevented that 1 big run by Jones, the packers had 27 attempts for 83 yards and 0 TD's. That is less than 3.1 yards per carry. Obviously that 1 big run still counts but our run defense was nowhere near as bad as people think it was.

But aren't the Lions the 1 or 2 ranked rushing team this year?

They are ranked 5th in yards per game and 5th in yards per attempt.

outside of Bosa - Ferrell was our best edge setting DE. if we make the super bowl, is it possible he comes back? or will the timeline not work?

He's done for the year, no way to bring him back off of IR.

Lions losing their really good starting LG Jonah Jackson and top blocking TE for this game

I didn't realize he was their best run blocking TE. Those are two MASSIVE losses for the lions. Factor in that their center is hanging on by a thread - our d line should finally show up.

this would be a different game if their o line was healthy because that's a top 3 o line this year.

I do think stopping the run vs the Lions is the priority.

But pointing to the GB game as an example of the Niners playing the run poorly is not a good example. GB had one very good run. Otherwise they really struggled.

Why not a good example? This isn't week 7. It's the path to the SB. We should be peaking.

anyone know Armsteads snap count last week? he didnt seem to play much. they def were holding him back cause he hadn't played in so long.

Hopefully he plays more. I don't even think he started the game.

nvm he played more than I realized - 46 snaps.

Also, no need for containment rush on the QB since Goff isn't much of a threat to scramble or evade and extend the play. Get into 3rd and long and pin those ears back. Of course, the hard part is getting to 3rd and long.

They've lost TEs in multiple weeks. LaPorta and a practice squad guy are their only available TEs. That will limit their rushing attack at least a bit.

La Porta is super banged up too. I think he has a knee injury. I was surprised he was playing.

Gibbs is their CMC. He was a beast yesterday. We have to get our run stop back in order..
I think we will win this game pretty convincingly. Lions are injured and Goff is mediocre - our D feasts on this kind of QB.

I like our chances.

What's your opinion on the team & coaching around Goff now compared to when he was on the Rams and played us? Better, same, or worse?

I think it's worse offensive coaching and overall talent, but still formidable.
