the play clock is only 40 seconds
it also stops after 4th down turnover on downs
The clock was greater than 40*3 when we started our drive (or whatever amount of timeouts Detroit had left impacting the math)
we had to burn the extra time or give it back
So running around 1st-3rd downs and Brock on 4th down did the job

Really fun to watch Strahan present us with the trophy after that comeback. Anyone else remember the playoff game vs the Giants when he was yelling at TO to look at the scoreboard before they came back in that game? Strahan remembers.
Dan Campbell was on the Giants roster for that game.

Anyway, you're right about not remembering how bad JM was before the Catch. But nobody remembers Wright tackling Drew Pearson to save a Dallas TD either. Go Niners

Is that good enough of a Purdy comeback for all the haters? 2 weeks in a row on a high pressure playoff games? f**k yeah!!
Purdy made some clutch plays all game. Wasn't always pretty but the playoffs rarely are.
Made plays with his legs to get critical big yardage
I am reminded by just how CRAPPY Joe Montana played in the 1981 NFCCG. He was hitting passes all over the field, including three bone-headed picks to the Cowboys.
Yet, when the 49ers absolutely had to make that yardage, Montana did it with his arm and legs in that game. He was anything but perfect. But, he won.
We all suspected that Purdy had it in him to make the plays when he absolutely had to. He did. This game will become as legendary as the 1981 NFCCG over time. The game where Purdy defied the odds and brought his team back.

How is the chiefs Oline?
They are good, especially the interior. And get the benefit of NEVER getting called for holding. They have one of the best centers in the league in Creed Humphrey. Trey Smith at gurad, who I REALLY wanted us to draft that year. Joe Thuney is an all pro guard, but missed the game today. He's got a pectoral injury, and staus for the Super Bowl is still up in the air. They aren't as good at tackle, and both have had up and down years.

Could have and it'd have left approximately 10 seconds left where we have to punt it. Yes, unlikely anything happens but weird s**t can

Still bothers me that Montana wasn't wearing any 49ers gear. Even his wife was wearing his Super Bowl rings, not him. But Sherm out there in the 49er shirt, jacket, and hat!!!
