I don't think any team is, but a good defense will do that to you and KC's defense is better than ours - if you look statistically at their points allowed numbers.

it's not about the matchup but more of open throwing lanes.. batted balls killed us in SB 54

Agree, Chris Jones killed us.

A key here to me is Brock playing fast. A lot of that heat comes from all over the field, including DBs. If Brock is playing quick as he often does, KC may be in for a world of hurt. He can beat the blitz.

Yeah he can beat the blitz. Not all blitzes are equal. KC has a well coached defense so not only do they blitz, they disguise behind it. One way to really punish KC blitz is to not keep CMC in for blitz pickup. Take advantage of the fact that Brock can beat the blitz and send out five routes regardless of the blitz coming. After CMC catches a short pass and runs for another 15 yards, KC should be a bit reluctant to blitz. But yeah, a big thing to watch is how SF decides to combat the blitz - max protect, send out five and throw it fast, or something in between.

I think it would be between Kittle and CMC. Both would be good targets against KC's blitz packages.

no one can convince me that this year's kc offense is more dangerous than the version with tyreek

It's the least talented offense we've faced in the playoffs. But it's also the best coached, with the best player in the game.

That's the rub though. I lack confidence in our schematic matchup. Talent wise, KC isn't that scary outside of Mahomes/Kelce. But our scheme does not matchup well at all with Reid's offense. I think Wilks is going to have to change up the formula in a major way for us to have success.

Agree, last year Andy Reid took us to the cleaners with his screen game and jet sweeps.

Another "is this a team of destiny" moment I didn't even think about. On Purdy's interception his hand colliding with that of a defender's on the follow-through could've very well resulted in a, dare I say, season ending injury? But nothing happened. Maybe I'm delusional but IDGAF.
When I watched that I cringed if the guy hit his forearm instead of his hand/ wrist it could have been really bad. Anyway all is good.

I could be wrong but I think Feliciano gave up that pressure. Chris Jones scares me in the middle with his ability to collapse that pocket on Purdy as he throws.
I don't see a shootout at all, I think this will be a defensive game. KC averaged 21.8 ppg in 2023, and I think our defense steps up in a big big way

Now that is the best way to look at it. Brock does not panic like the guy we had the last time.
At least our D doesn't have to account for Hill this time!!!!

Yup, one less thing to worry about. Its still going to be a monumental challenge to beat Patrick though. He's the boss of bosses.

If Kelce somehow gets Wide Open, then I will be lost for words.....

Unfortunately, I don't see our defense doing enough to keep It a low scoring game. I just hope that Kyle Is cooking up a master plan to score touchdowns on almost every drive similar to what we did against the Eagles..

34-30 49ers Is my optimistic prediction.
