I wonder who is will have a surprise role in the Superbowl. With an extra week of preparation and this is the final game, teams often give someone a surprise role. Back in 2019, it was Jeff Wilson and Tarvarius Moore. Wilson's receiving ability out of the back field gave him a role on offense. Moore's speed could potentially match up better against the Chiefs' speedy receivers.
Perhaps the surprise role this time can be Logan Ryan. We can put him in in certain defensive packages to try to confuse and add wrinkles to the defensive scheme. I don't want to get Greenlaw off the field, but it is possible we have Ryan in some nickel packages over Ambry.
I don't see any surprise role on the offense.

It's amusing how many Niners fans are conditioning themselves to believe that no matter how many times they tap the lever with their paw, nothing will happen.
It's gonna be great next Sunday when all those treat nuggets finally tumble down the chute.

Alex Smith doesn't like our chances. He said our D has been weak, and Mahomes is going to shred us if we play like we have lately.
Dude so outta shape…Break him early so it's Gabbert.

Ravens had him on that one really awkward hit in the title game. He somehow Gumby'd out of it. Maybe the benefit of having fat body, lol.

Lol this man played on a damn near broken ankle and balled. Short of ripping his elbow off, like Brock's, he isn't going anywhere. Even with that - he would probably use the other arm to throw.

After the Quality Control Unit talked to Steve Wilks at half time, the 49ers made subtle adjustments which were great adjustments. Steve Wilks got more aggressive, he ran some great disguises in coverage to throw off Goff. He started mixing in more man coverage and then showed man looks that were actually zone. Fire zone blitzes and dropping Chase Young also showed up in the 2nd half. Key players like Tashaun Gipson, Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw played so well in the 2nd half

Fans are being negative, but we're going to win.
I think the posters pets are probably spoiled.

And let's not forget that the 49ers have placed more of an emphasis on pass rush than they have on stopping the run. As we know we have signed Javon Hargrave and traded for Chase Young. Both players are known to be good pash rushers, but not as strong in the run game. In my opinion, they need to place a greater emphasis on stopping the run this offseason. I still believe they miss D.J. Jones, and probably hoped Kalia Davis would be that guy. It just hasn't happened yet. I think they should play more of Kinlaw as he is our best run stopper atm. Maybe move Armstead to LE for obvious running downs.
A line of Bosa, Hargrave, Kinlaw and Armstead is more likely to stop the run.
Chase Young is too easily blocked by WRs.
As I have said, let someone other than Kelce and Rice beat you.
i like the idea of this. We had a pretty good run D when Armstead was starting at end. At least get him in there on 1st-2nd and then rotate a fresh chase young on pass downs and armstead back inside. Kalia Davis supposed to be available so there is extra rotation help inside.
