🏆 SUPER BOWL LVIII PREGAME THREAD - SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS 🏆

And let's not forget that the 49ers have placed more of an emphasis on pass rush than they have on stopping the run. As we know we have signed Javon Hargrave and traded for Chase Young. Both players are known to be good pash rushers, but not as strong in the run game. In my opinion, they need to place a greater emphasis on stopping the run this offseason. I still believe they miss D.J. Jones, and probably hoped Kalia Davis would be that guy. It just hasn't happened yet. I think they should play more of Kinlaw as he is our best run stopper atm. Maybe move Armstead to LE for obvious running downs.

A line of Bosa, Hargrave, Kinlaw and Armstead is more likely to stop the run.

Chase Young is too easily blocked by WRs.

As I have said, let someone other than Kelce and Rice beat you.

i like the idea of this. We had a pretty good run D when Armstead was starting at end. At least get him in there on 1st-2nd and then rotate a fresh chase young on pass downs and armstead back inside. Kalia Davis supposed to be available so there is extra rotation help inside.

Expect a lot of jet sweeps with Chase or AA at DE.
Pavlov's Dog Experiment
Pavlov was conducting research on the digestion of dogs when he noticed that the dogs' physical reactions to food subtly changed over time. At first, the dogs would only salivate when the food was placed in front of them. However, later they salivated slightly before their food arrived.

It was driving me absolutely insane that we weren't running this against Detroit who could've easily gotten caught over-pursuing early.

We're gonna get screened to death, aren't we?

This is a big game for Wilks. We can't be predictable... but we can't be too aggressive. I haven't had faith in him to make the right calls at the right times, but he has a chance to prove everyone wrong on the biggest stage.

We have a bunch of issues to account for, but I look at this and just think with the Chiefs substandard screen defense, Deebo could have some opportunities.

And he's like 30/1 for SBMVP, lol.

I think it's a guarantee that they'll run some screens that will be ridiculously open - did they same against us in the regular season last year.

technically he's a dad so...
You know how we have had a streak all season where the defense played really well off of rest? Then slowly got worse as they got more tired after a stretch of games.

i wonder why that didn't happen after our bye week for the wild card round. I feel like that packers game exhausted us cause the weather and how physical it was. Maybe that is part of the reason we sucked so bad against the lions - after the game, Young said he was exhausted. Wasn't even gonna party.

so maybe this week of rest will help them recover and be ready to go for the super bowl. Lol I hope.. the defense is the wild card to me. I have no idea how they're going to play cause they've been elite, horrible, and every inbetween at times this season.

Could also be that we played two piss poor offenses in the earlier two situations where we were rested (Pitt and Jax).

I thought they looked great against Jax but felt like there were plays to be made in the Pitt game and Pickett was awful.

Time to get our lead back just like we took the lead in most playoff wins in NFL History.

Arrowhead has been a house or horrors for SF overall.
