Jake Brendel in the playoffs this season:

79 pass-blocking snaps
2 pressures allowed
0 sacks allowed

hmm I didn't expect that. I'm guessing the sacks have been either Banks or Mckivitz fault?

Just noticed CJ Gardner-Johnson was the lowest graded player for the Lions defense with a 33.9 PFF grade. pic.twitter.com/R24uSxMJxZ

As far as blocking Chris Jones, we all know how that went in Super Bowl LIV. The 49ers offensive line handled Jones okay in the first three quarters, but in the fourth quarter, when they needed to score, Jones took over the game. If the 49ers can't keep Jones from wrecking things in the middle of the line, it will be a long day for the 49ers' offense. I believe the 49ers will figure out how to handle Jones this time.
in that scenario, purdy will scramble, jimmy can't/couldn't
This game seems like a great time to showcase Purdy's legs. Doubtful KC spends a lot of time preparing for QB runs and until last game, Purdy's mobility was a well kept secret.
purdy is evolving from pocket passer to full on dual-threat

Stepping up big boy! You gotta post that in the OL thread. He worked his ass off to get here. His off season regimen is nuts.

Detroit lost their starting LG and Frank Ragnow slid over on a majority of plays to help. KC has a similar quality Center with Creed Humphrey. I expect him to slide over to help Nick Allegretti. That will leave AA to go against Trey Smith. AA will have to win there by himself.
Our Edge guys should create some issues with KC's OTs on run plays where they are BAD. Much better on PP.
Bosa has a chance to really have a special game - we will need him to come through. With thuney being out, chiefs were pressured a lot more than usual. Hopefully our defense has one of its better performances and can hold KC to 24 or less.
i feel like this will be a 28-24 kind of game with us putting a ring on it 😈
I like how you think.
Part of me thinks it will take 30+ to win this game.
But I agree it likely is going to be close.

Javon Hargrave was the big free agent signing in the offseason. He was great during the first half of the season but has tailed off as the season has worn on. When the 49ers signed him, we knew the run defense might suffer a little bit, but his pass-rush ability would more than make up for it. But recently, he hasn't even been that effective in getting after the quarterback. So I agree that Hargrave hasn't lived up to his billing in recent weeks. I don't know that I'd say he's a non-factor, but he needs to step up. He's one player who could have a monstrous impact on the Super Bowl.
my man! someone's been reading that Q&A

Yeah, they were great, but Cam was trash against them.
that year, they had 3 games where they held an opponent to 10 or less.
Week 5 against the (7-9) Raiders
Week 8 against the (10-6) Packers
Week 13 against the (4-12) Chargers
Broncos were dominated worse than just about everyone else they played, in the superbowl. that's an embarrassment. that's what happens to a Cam led team when his defense isn't getting a ton of turnovers for him.
Denver had 7 sacks and 4 turnovers. lol Carolina got 5 sacks and 2 turnovers though.
