I mean go look at the numbers. He ran that offense how his OC/HC want it run. Top 5 in points per game this yr. You gotta make the plays.

I don't care who he has around him. Everyone needs guys around him to be good end of the day. This isn't basketball where ya got 15 players on your team and it's 5 on 5.

That DET team was better. Goff is part of that team. That GB team was better and Love is part of that team.

SF has a better team.

Now After listening to most talking heads, now I'm not sure anyone can beat KC in the SB…
Sucks
Not to many think the 49ers can pull off a win.

Kyle is going to really have to stick to the run. Even if it's a struggle.

And that's what scares me the most. If nobody gives you a chance then that means there's a good chance.

Of course we have a chance. There's a reason Vegas favors us. We aren't without weakness, but if KC wants to get into a physical match, that's where we will try and take it. I expect a close game, not sure who will win, but let's not forget who the f**k is on this team: CMC, Trent, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Fred, Nick, Arik, Dre. These are some hungry vets who have been in big games. Battle tested stars. I don't see how this team is easily dismissed when we've shown the ability to play bully ball better than anyone.

Mahomes is doing what he needs to do to get wins. 3 of his 4 best QBR's this season have come in the playoffs, 76.9% and 73.9% completion percentages last 2 games. The Ravens had the ball for 9 minutes total in the first half. They're slowing the game down and keeping control with a ball control offense, and I expect them to have the exact same gameplan against us. This won't be a shootout. The Chiefs are going to try to move the ball down the field slowly and methodically and win the time of possessions game, leaning on their defense.

Time of possession vs. Ravens was 37:30 - 22:30. That's an insane difference.

the unfortuante part is that our defense has been horrible about letting numerous teams do that against us all year. I have full trust in our offense to do their job, but it's the defense that concerns me. If they can be the elite defense we know they're capable of, stay disciplined, we will be alright.

but I'm very worried about them having 9+ play drives and long drives numerous times. Our defense is awful on third downs.

My concern as well. For whatever reason our defense has been absolutely atrocious at 3'rd down stops. Hopefully Wilks has this game more geared toward stopping the short and intermediate game. Line of scrimmage play is going to be the most important factor.

I also think we need to play ball control on offense. Which I think will be the only way to go since KC doesn't seem prone to giving up explosive plays anyway. We need to pound the rock with CMC and Deebo. Spell those guys with Mitchell, and attack the edges with screens and short pass attack. We are going to come out deferring so most likely we will be on defense to start. If we can force a punt on that drive, then ball control the hell out of our ensuing drive, we could be up by a touchdown by the second quarter.

Dominating TOP is imperative to keep Mahomes off the field and keep our defense rested. We can't afford to have another game where the opposing team is dictating the terms of the game. Unfortunately, I have low confidence in the defense to consistently force KC into punts. We will be in situations where a win would be forcing field goals and not allowing touchdowns. And we will need win the turnover battle, that is an absolute must to win the game.
I just don't want the same old BS, if/when the chiefs are 3rd and long, they heave the ball downfield and get a DPI call. That play ranks up there with the gimme phlly tush-push play. At least with the philly play, you had to be close, with 3rd and forever, one bad call/bad play gets them right back into it.

Again the Ravens f**ked themselves. They didn't do what they were better than anyone else in the league at…running the ball. Lamar had massive lanes and went full on simple Jack for whatever reason.

They had 4 legit running plays in the first half (not scramble attempts)! Whose fault is that? They fumbled the ball and completely disregarded what they did well all year.

KC blitzed the s**t out of Lamar and clearly as a pocket passing QB he doesn't thrive in those situations. Brock is the exact opposite of that. He's one of the best QBs in the league vs the blitz.

KC is gonna play a f**k ton of man D and guess what Brock isn't a statue back there…he ain't scared to run it if it's there. Please play man vs kittle and BA. Thats advantage SF. They're not great vs teams that run a ton of pre-snap motions.

KC is one of the worst run defending defenses in the league…especially vs outside zone.

As far as KC's offense. Mahomes gonna Mahomes. We know they don't have the fire power for explosives like in the past. Keep it to field goals, which is something that D is good at

We are talking Mahomes vs Goff, they are on different planets dude. If your answer is go look at the numbers, I say go watch em play the position, how they operate under duress, the plays they are capable of making off schedule. Goff was never at any time playing better than Mahomes, putting up numbers isn't playing better. If you want to say the DET team was better, that's a dif conversation. This will be the top QB we've faced this postseason, by a long shot, granted Love was playing very well coming into that game but he's no Mahomes, not yet.

It's more a first half thing though. They always seem to make adjustments and change that in the second half.

Honestly it comes down to taking Kelce out of the game. Bracket his ass and make someone else beat you.

get CMC going and stay ahead of the chains. They're gonna run blitz and brock has gotta see that coming and adjust presnap too.

Because they need more money on that side of the betting line?

Agree! 💯% and I think Brock's arm is stronger than Joe's. He's more on the level of Steve Young.

I'm talking about this year. Goff was better overall than Mahomes. His offense was better. Putting up numbers is absolutely part of saying who had a better season.

if we're talking under pressure, Goff had a higher qb rating than Mahomes this yr.

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/highest-qb-rating-under-pressure-2023

weren't you the one that said making plays off schedule was such a small part of playing the position lol?

People gotta stop with it being a QB vs a QB. It's not that….ever. It's a team vs a team.

I think Justin Herbert is one of the most talented QBs in the league…doesn't mean s**t when the team (or coach) overall isn't at his level…end of the day we're talking about winning a football game. Not which QB can throw a ball off one foot 50 yards.

I'm sure it's already been said here before, but I am convinced that Roger Goodell is having wet dreams of Taylor Swift celebrating on the field and all those Chiefs hats and jerseys she's going to sell. That, and the same official who called the game 4 years ago (and called zero holding penalties when Bosa was held repeatedly) is calling the game this year. The Niners have to:

1. Beat a peaking at the right time Chiefs team
2. Overcome officials that will probably swallow their whistle for one of the most penalized O-lines in the league
3. Overcome the chosen narrative

Niners will need to be practically perfect to pull this one out

I think the 49ers can keep this bunch one more year because of Brock's salary.

The Ravens definitely did screw themselves no doubt. I'm just saying Mahomes played the way he needed to in order for them to win. Sure they didn't score any points in the second half, but is there anyone who thinks they couldn't have if needed? The whole game felt like Mahomes managing his way to a time of possession win while letting the Ravens self implode.

I agree. I'm putting money down on the Chiefs. Not sure why they are not favored. If I am 49ers, I am approaching this as a underdog role. Disrespected in the media again. Given a terrible field to practice on. Not wearing home kits. Game manager quarterback. We've lost a SB already to this squad. All the media wants to see a Swift Kelce kiss at the 50 yard line. Got to go out there and work against the forces and play 4 quarters of elite football.
