We are talking Mahomes vs Goff, they are on different planets dude. If your answer is go look at the numbers, I say go watch em play the position, how they operate under duress, the plays they are capable of making off schedule. Goff was never at any time playing better than Mahomes, putting up numbers isn't playing better. If you want to say the DET team was better, that's a dif conversation. This will be the top QB we've faced this postseason, by a long shot, granted Love was playing very well coming into that game but he's no Mahomes, not yet.

I'm talking about this year. Goff was better overall than Mahomes. His offense was better. Putting up numbers is absolutely part of saying who had a better season.

I don't care how they play under duress…the results are there. I watched a lot of damn football this yr. This was one of Mahomes' worst seasons. I'm not saying he's not elite.

weren't you the one that said making plays off schedule was such a small part of playing the position lol?

People gotta stop with it being a QB vs a QB. It's not that….ever. It's a team vs a team.

I think Justin Herbert is one of the most talented QBs in the league…doesn't mean s**t when the team (or coach) overall isn't at his level…end of the day we're talking about winning a football game. Not which QB can throw a ball off one foot 50 yards.

Watch Mahomes vs DET, he played out of his mind, and it was an L. When the ball clangs off Toney for a pick 6, that impacts the numbers. Did Pat play it wrong? No, he threw a perfect ball. You ding Mahomes for the numbers, but no one in their right mind would fault Mahomes on that play, watching the play as it happened.

I really dislike the this was a bad season for Mahomes takes, why cuz MVS sucked? Or Toney sucked? That means it's a bad season for Toney. Not Patrick. Understand where the fault lies, and who's playing well and who isn't. Mahomes is every bit the stud he was as league MVP, now if the numbers have changed, maybe it's cuz Tyreek is in MIA, sure that hits your numbers, doesn't mean Mahomes isn't playing as well as ever, just means the roster has changed.
Look I'm not taking anything away from Mahomes. All said and done he's probably gonna be the GOAT. I do think this has been a "down" year for him and his offense overall.

I do think the last two teams we faced were better offenses. I do think Goff/love were playing at a high level.

that doesn't mean Mahomes is gonna pull a rabbit out of his ass. I just think folks in here have PSTD with him and haven't been paying attention to that offense this yr.

That, and the same official who called the game 4 years ago (and called zero holding penalties when Bosa was held repeatedly) is calling the game this year. The Niners have to:

1. Beat a peaking at the right time Chiefs team
2. Overcome officials that will probably swallow their whistle for one of the most penalized O-lines in the league
3. Overcome the chosen narrative

Niners will need to be practically perfect to pull this one out

I agree. I'm putting money down on the Chiefs. Not sure why they are not favored. If I am 49ers, I am approaching this as a underdog role. Disrespected in the media again. Given a terrible field to practice on. Not wearing home kits. Game manager quarterback. We've lost a SB already to this squad. All the media wants to see a Swift Kelce kiss at the 50 yard line. Got to go out there and work against the forces and play 4 quarters of elite football.

3 weeks ago everyone laughed at the idea of the Chiefs even competing in the AFC playoffs, and now they are an unstoppable force? They sweat and bleed just like every other team. They Lose like every team. They lost to Aidan O'Connell at home. The 49ers were at times this season one of the most elite offenses the NFL has seen in decades. SF has as good a chance at winning as KC does, they just have to play up to their potential.

We can agree that GB and DET bring more skill player challenges. Pacheco is a hammer and Kelce is Kelce, but we should be able to handle the rest. Completely agree, my point is simply that they need to be the best version of themselves, and we've seen what that looks like, to win.

They absolutely can, but there's no question in my mind that the deck is heavily stacked against them for reasons other than the talent on the field.

That would be a fun return to our roots if CMC, Deebo, Brock, and even Mason/Mitchell just kept pounding for 3-5 yards per play, and just absolutely demoralize and suffocate KC. Run the ball 40 times and we win.
That was pre-Brock, and now we have a guy that can attack them through the air, but in any case, I hope we get the run game going early.
Agree💯%. That's one way to calm down the spagnoluo zone-blitz defense. Otherwise running against a zone blitz will open up some gaping holes for CMC. Opening with the run would also help Brock on his play passes.

On offense, I'm expecting KC to try to do the toss-cracks and jet-screens like they did to us last year. They will Do the KC version of a quick-pass ball-hog offense like Sean McVay's Rams.

I'm with you. I was referring to the last comment, not yours, but definitely agree with your points

Go watch Goff that game. He played better lol (which doesn't matter because they don't play one on one basketball).

you talk about dropped balls…what about Kelce running wide open on broken plays all the damn time? He gets credit for that? Screen to Rice that goes for 15? Credit for that, right?

you can't pick and choose when a QB gets credit or doesn't get credit for something. Unless you want to break down every single passing attempt of his this yr.

it's his lowest QB rating of his career, almost half as many TDs as last yr, lowest TD%, highest INT%, lowest YPA etc.

I don't give a f**k if he's Thanos and all of your minds…we're not just playing him AND overall we've played QBs that have had just as good if not better seasons.

Not everyone. Ive been betting them hard moneyline in every playoff game. They are far from unstoppable, but Mahomes and Reid know how to win. The shield also wants them to win. I agree that SF has a chance to win and if they put together a complete game as I hope they do, then I will gladly be celebrating.

We can agree that GB and DET bring more skill player challenges. Pacheco is a hammer and Kelce is Kelce, but we should be able to handle the rest. DET has about 5 guys that scare you at the skill guys, from the TE, both backs, St Brown and Williams, plus a RT that you gotta deal with. On pass downs, KC has 1 dude who's a real problem. You should be able to solve for or have a plan, for one dude.

Everyone sleeping on Rashee Rice. Hes a problem.

Mahomes has had a down year like he lost a little of his mojo. Proof was in the pudding when he cried like a b***h because of his receiver lining up off sides. Even Chief fans agree that its the defense that has carried the team to the playoffs.

Honestly its not Mahomes I'm worried about, its Bill Vinovich and his calls-no-calls against the 49ers.

He's good, also still learning / developing. I don't think he's a problem we are incapable of solving. The one matchup problem in terms of PB or AP caliber skill guys in the pass game is the TE. We have maybe 4 such guys on that level. To their 1.

He's their best WR. No one on the Niners is sleeping on him.

Rice is a fine rookie WR. He ain't Hill. He ain't St brown.

Pacheco "The hammer" ran for 2.8 YPC last game. There running game isn't close to what we saw the past two games. Jones/Montgomery/Gibbs >>> Pacheco. Also I'll take GB/DETs OL over KC's all day.

We gotta be physical with them. Pound the rock then hit up the PA.

TBH Mahomes pulling rabbits out his ass is his specialty. Just because his offense wasn't that great this year, doesn't mean squat. There's only one game that really counts and that's all that is needed if his offense decides to show. Also, Chiefs didn't have Tyreek last year and they still whooped the Niners. It's like the chiefs is Kyle's kryptonite.
