KC not having Tyreek Hill this time, that's what's got me believing and I feel like it's an underrated storyline when it comes to judging the two teams. I was ecstatic when he went to Miami.
It helps that he's not on the team anymore, but the Niners played the chiefs last year and they didn't have tyreek but the score was still 44-23 chiefs.
Yeah, the last SB is ancient history for me, it's last year's game that concerns me. They out-schemed on offense and defense. Hopefully they can't play that card twice, and Kyle adjusts.
Yeah, and we started that game with a 10-0 lead too. Rewatching some of this we really should've put up WAY more points. I mean it should've been 31 minimum IMO.
Drives in the game last year that ended with 3 or less points because of a mistake:
-Aiyuk drop on 3rd and 3 in the red zone
-Jimmy double clutches and decides not to throw to open guy, gets sacked
-Penalty on FG attempt pushes us out of field goal range right before the half
-RIGHT AFTER THIS ^ the Chiefs muffed the punt and we got it back IN THE RED ZONE. Jimmy threw it up into the endzone for a pick the next play
Then, we also had a ton of other mental mistakes
-Gave up a big return and then an insanely late hit out of bounds setting up KC with a short field for easy points
-Multiple times Garoppolo took some REALLY BAD sacks late in the game, including one where he got chased down from behind for a safety.
On defense they stretched us out wide a LOT. Mahomes was constantly rolling out and they ran a bunch of jet sweeps. Offensively, we were able to move the ball, we honestly just had too many mistakes, especially from Jimmy IMO.
Overall, we have to play smart, clean football. We have to do better on defense on the edge obviously on D, and make sure we keep moving the chains on O.
