They are calling the Kansas City Chiefs the new America's Team.
Yankees, Dodgers, Lakers, Celtics and Cowboys, no matter how bad the team is at the moment, they will have fans across the country. Thats what makes an America's team. When the Seahawks were dominant, I never thought they would become America's team. Just not how it works, just by having a dynasty you dont become America's team

On this Charvarius Ward quote:

"This Super Bowl's in Vegas, so might turn up a little bit the first day or two out there — but after that really just lock in, focused."
It should be noted that Ward is just a great, honest, authentic interview. He's rarely up at the podium, so…
Heard that too. Hopefully he just meant going out for a nice chill dinner and watching cirque du solei then back home and in bed by 9pm
Yes. Cirqu Du Solie is lit

So the "America's team" is a moniker that was first offered to Pittsburgh. The Rooney's turned it down because they wanted to rep Pittsburgh and keep their financial ties to the steel companies of that error. That's when the NFL went to Dallas and started to Market them as America's team. So it's not something they earned from fans, it was literally a marketing deal.
Chiefs started becoming popular in the 1990s when the Niners delt Joe Montana to them, that was a huge moment for the league back when they were making playoffs consistently, and had a few star players that people loved to watch, and then the 2020s came along... whoosh!
In order for the Chiefs to be America's team, we'd need an overbearing, power-hungry control freak of of an owner. All those sports franchise powerhouses (Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys) that FTF brought up have that in common. Buss, Steinbrenner, & Jones families were/are all front of mind when you think of those teams. The Hunts aren't that.
The Mohomes and "America's Kid's Team" point is already underway. I went to the Chiefs preseason game in New Orleans this year and there were scores of kids there in Mahomes jerseys and shirts. Most of them with parents in Saints gear. That seed is not just planted, it's sprouting.
Niners and Brock Purdy can kill it. Here and Now.
Joe Montana talked about Purdy and "the system" on Pat McAfee. So, Joe Cool says Purdy and I'm quoting Montana "you can tell he has it figured out."

If you're referring to that shouting hot take show then didn't they say that KC is not Americas team? One of them compared KC to Jordan's Bulls. They had the GOAT so everyone cared about them. But once Jordan left no one cared about them outside of Bulls fans.

We will see. I think right now the Kansas City Chiefs are the most marketable team in the league. Mahomes, Kelce, Swift etc. That makes them Americas team in the eye of the advertising executives and the NFL executives. The ratings are higher than ever, there is more money in the system than ever before, there are more eyeballs as they say than ever. ts all about the money...

I find that quite insulting. Please stop. Abusing other posters is wrong.
A better question would be can the 49ers become America's team with a win. They would have 6 Super Bowls, tied for the most with the Patriots and Steelers, and we also have a massive fanbase across the entire country.

So many reasons the Niners need to win this game, and forcing the media to pump the brakes on coronating Mahomes as the GOAT before he's even won as many as Bradshaw and Montana is right up there.

I paraphrased in my description of the show. I don't think they said 'GOAT' when referring to Mahomes, just that KC has a great player in Mahomes.

Yeah but it doesn't take a scientist. By the time he retires most records will be destroyed except the Brady age rule. I mean it is a fact he is probably the greatest QB of all time. And KC is easily a Dynasty if they win this thing.
I don't care what we are called. I just don't want it to be 30 years a go since last SB win. It really is becoming ancient history as great as it was. We need a win now,

Sure, I'm referring to other talk shows I've watched. It's been debated ad nauseam since the AFCCG. Seems they're eager to have a new golden boy now that Brady is retired.

Kansas City will never be America's team. They'll become as irrelevant as the Patriots once their star QB packs it up.
the 49ers could fit the mold bc there are fans everywhere, including a very hefty international fan base. Besides the 49ers and Cowboys, I just don't see any other team in the NFL claiming rights as America's team…
