Las Vegas has more on the line than any media pundit, fan, or even team believe it or not. They have a vested interest in getting it RIGHT, and do more often than not.

1981 - SF -1
1984 - SF -3.5
1988 - SF -7
1989 - SF -12
2012 - SF -4.5
2019 - KC -3
2023 SF -2.5

It's pretty bad. I got an account over there.
If we can limit Travis Kelce's catches that'll be a big step to beating KC. He consistently gets open and sometimes it's a great catch and sometimes he just gets wide open too many times. Need a great defensive scheme and effort
I like that the head coach, defensive coordinator, and GM have challenged the manhood of the defense. They have too much talent on that side of the ball to continue with these slow starts. They needed to be publicly called out. I hope it lights a fire under them and we see an inspired effort in the Super Bowl to redeem themselves.
When a team with a QB like Mahomes holds the entire fourth quarter and most of the second half, it's hard to beat. And ppl on espn brought this up after that Super Bowl, bc it was obvious. But yeah, if that happens, 49ers better start holding and see if it's called. Force the refs to make calls or show their hand

They will call it on the 49ers and not on the Chiefs.

Interesting watching how the packers played and beat the chiefs this year considering the similarities between the Niners and Packers.

Packers were able to move the ball really really well running the ball and play action.

chiefs OTs were getting worked badly in this game

chiefs WRs seem very very coverable.

Pacheco is a beast, we need to be ready for heavy doses of run

kelce can't be defended with zone coverage. We need to figure this out

Kyle should call plays keeping the action away from jones. Packers did a great job of doing this

Great points!!! I agree!
I been saying it all year even during the Offseason I said it was gonna be 49ers vs Chiefs Super Bowl I have been waiting for the rematch for years and years it's crazy the 49ers and Chiefs could have played in the Super Bowl 4 straight times if SF won the NFC Championship

IMO, it's more Brock Purdy causing this positive change than any adjustment Shanahan has made. Why? You have to ask yourself, when has Shanahan had a quarterback this good? That allows a coaching staff to do things they otherwise could not.

Those are all pretty true. I would feel better with the 2019 defense and special teams. Both groups have dropped off.

I don't know. Our defense doesn't blitz, but 22 interceptions is (I think) tops in the NFL this year. One thing reason I think they don't blitz, is because they can get pressure with their four man line. Wilks made his coaching reputation on being a blitz specialist, but I just don't think he's had to blitz much this season - even with our DLine not being tops in the league in sacks.
Baltimore Ravens literally was diving into the end zone when they fumbled it back to the Chiefs. Baltimore also shot themselves in the foot with all of their roughing penalties and unsportsmanlike penalties. Finally, Lamar made a fatal mistake when he threw into triple coverage in the end zone. The Ravens should have won. They are better than the Chiefs. The 49ers caught a break.

I'm a Purdy fan, but the key difference is CMC. He's the best all-purpose back we've ever had, including Roger Craig, and it unlocks so much and is a great security blanket for a young QB.
Brock arrived to this debate unlike any other QB in history. Dudes are talking about him amongst guys who have MVP seasons, tossing and running for 40+ Touchdowns, and who are highly drafted… he has exceeded all expectations, costs less, and accomplishes the same goal - winning. Purdy unlocks the potential of the other pieces on the chess board, which makes the overall TEAM better. Individual, Lamar and Mahomes are MVP's on relatively talent starved teams (Andrews, Kelce, etc) and they take up massive cap space, whereas, Purdy plays for a complete roster team who WINS. The most important stat.

Contrast that with Brock's family who just seem like nice people
