🏆 SUPER BOWL LVIII PREGAME THREAD - SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS 🏆

People are nervous because it took a lot of luck for us to make it here because we played nothing like we're capable of the last couple games.

That said, if we play good ball.. Our team is so hard to stop.

On offense, honestly.. Just block better and then Purdy just needs to keep calm and be his best self. If that's the case, we have the ability to score 30+

On defense, tackle better and play with better effort. Wilks will need to dial up some good disguises to help get some stops too. I think it could be good to have Young and Bosa inside sometimes like they did again Trevor who liked to run.

The NFL only had 3 years to prepare for this event. How could they have known the visiting team would need a decent practice field?

Is Kyle going to choke for a 3rd time?
As if he was the HC (defensive minded HC at that) with the Falcons that gave up a 28-3 lead. Stupid.

If Brock Purdy loses, what makes him any different from Jimmy G? Should niners be looking elsewhere?
Dumb. Yeah, ignore everything he's put on tape since becoming the starter.

We are to the Chiefs what the Bengals we're to the niners of the 80's just another steeping stone on their way to a dynasty.

Also, the whole Goddell and practice field news, if true, just puts the icing on the cake. Basically, telling the niners players shut up
and take it up the ass. Makes me expect them to continue it during game through the refs. The league can do whatever the f**k they want, they don't have to answer to NOBODY.

It sucks, but I'm already preparing myself for disappointment. Another set of great players are going to retire ringless, just like 2011-2014 niners.

I'm sorry man, I want to believe but I've with the s**t we've had to put up in the last decade. And all this Chiefs team of destiny, Taylor swift story line, and Goddell basically taking sides, makes it extremely difficult.

This is why I would've rather played the Ravens. You knew the nfl was going to do everything in their power to gift wrap this game to KC

We're all witnesses to the NFL bending the team over. And the league and nfl community pointing at us and calling us whiners while they do it.

How did you feel when the 49ers were trailing GB and needed a clutch drive to win it? How did you feel when the 49ers trailed DET by 17 and looked like poo in the first half? Don't admit defeat when the game hasn't even started yet.

I lost all respect for Dan Quinn when he let the media blame Kyle for the Falcons choke, even though he was the HC.

The only playoff team they beat in the entire regular season was the Dolphins 21-14.

Losing to the Raiders, Broncos and Eagles. with so many close games against unimpressive teams.

Both the playoff teams we just played and beat, the Lions and Packers.(games we didn't play our best). The Chiefs lost to both the Lions and Packers.

Most are judging the Chiefs in these current playoffs and their past success, as who they are now. But when you look at this playoff run, it is not nearly as impressive as it looks on paper.

Both the Dolphins and Bills Defense's were decimated by injuries. I mean decimated. Yes, the Ravens win was an impressive win. But still the chiefs only put up 17 points after a red hot start. The ravens who were the best running team in the NFL, for some reason decided not to run the football. There is just a lot to question about the Chiefs even after these playoff games.

The Chiefs offense and Mahomes were below average all season long. Yes, the Chiefs defense has been very impressive but not some historically good defense that some are pretending them to be. I just think a lot of people in the media are pretending that the Chiefs are one of the past teams and not seeing them for what they are currently. Vegas knows, it is why we are favorite even though everyone in sports media thinks the Chiefs are going to win. The 49ers have been a superior team to the Chiefs all season long.

Also keep in mind in that Ravens game - not only did the Ravens decide to stop running it. They also got a fumble on the literal goal line, and an awful (non pressured) throw into TRIPLE COVERAGE for an int, and another turnover.

Lots of self destructive things had to happen for the Ravens.

The hope is that KC isn't really that good, and it won't be close enough for them to pull some BS.

I mean essentially he works for the owners, not the other way around.

This will take more heroics than both those games combined.
lol apparently Kinlaw liked the softer field surface. He said it felt good on his joints.

Baldy picked the chiefs

The team that wins the Super Bowl is typically the team that is peaking at just the right time.

We haven't played a good game since before Christmas. On that basis, I can see why he picks KC.

Hope he's wrong.

What if we are peaking tho? What if the Packers and Lions were really good and we had the NFC backwards? Nobody ever considered we played two great contenders and won.
