🏆 SUPER BOWL LVIII PREGAME THREAD - SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS 🏆

Interesting fact. Every time the 49ers have beaten a team in the NFC championship that has had blue in their uniform, they have gone on to win the SuperBowl.. Not too much of an odd fact. I think Wilks D will explode for this one.

the 49ers have the best rb in the nfl. they have the best tackle in the nfl. they have the best blocking tightened in the NFL. they have the best full back in the NFL. the interior of their line and right tackle are average at best at pass blocking. the chiefs have the best pass rushing interior lineman in the nfl. the chiefs have arguably the best secondary in the nfl. the chiefs have a poor interior run defense. the ravens made the mistake of backing off their run game bc of the looks the chiefs were giving them. this is moronic. the 49ers need to run the ball. a Superbowl winning team dictates its will on the other team. you don't try to out smart themselves playing cat and mouse, letting the other team dictate the terms. the 49ers should depend on the run. then do some play actions based on the run. quick screens etc. to Deebo. the 49ers have superior talent, the most likely way in which they lose this game is turnovers. they have a 2nd year qb who has looked shaky for most of these playoffs, though hes shown flashes. you dont just start throwing the ball over the place. keep the turnovers down. one or none is all they can afford. run the ball

After a year of all the b******t QB debate, the entire Niners fan base is fully united around one game. One QB. One shot at history. I love this s**t. This team is special. Believe.
Go 49ers!
Also: I predict we only score 24 points, but that might very well be enough to win. Chiefs haven't allowed 28+ since last year's Super Bowl, and the only time they allowed 27 was to Green Bay. But they also scored 23 or fewer in the majority of their games this season.

If we limit the Chiefs' TD's to two, I give us a good chance of winning. Three and it gets dicey.

We are scoring 42

No. The Chiefs aren't the prolific offense of 2019, and their defense hasn't yielded 30 points to anyone this season. Niners will probably be able to put up 24-28 points. There is always the possibility given the breaks of a game and the number of dynamic playmakers we have that they could blow it wide open, but unlikely given the Chiefs have the top rated defense. We didn't light up the scoreboard against either the Browns or the Ravens.

Ya I bet ravens fans were thinking they'd need to score in the high 20s even with their great D, when in fact all they needed was more than 17

To me, the magic number is 24. If we can score more than that, we have a good chance to win.

I was thinking that something around 24 was the key number as well. Maybe 27 with them scoring 21-24 something like that.
We NEED to use a heavy dose of Deebo in the SB. Give it to the playmakers who want the ball. We need to feed Deebo in both halves and make sure to target Kittle and Jauan Jennings in passing downs in particular. Give CMC the average run and have him as the hot read for KC blitzes. But I would make Deebo the primary weapon because KC cannot stop him.

Can't emphasize enough, Baltimore was the best team in the NFL for basically the entire season. We saw the game against them, it was just a better team in all aspects.
Chiefs go into their home, without a real WR or bonafide RB, and then beat them.

Reality is harsh sometimes. Right now, need luck, some very good bounces, defense plays their best game of the season, and "any given Sunday".
Let's hope for the best.
That's not as clearly obvious or even true as you want to think or make it sound. The ravens and Niners, in that order, were the two best teams in the league if you take all their data in the aggregate, but the separation between them was very slight. They were basically even - very similar to the chiefs and eagles last year.

Two takeaways:
1. Lamar Jackson sucks from the neck up and can be beaten when it matters.

2. it is highly unlikely, the chiefs, the 5th best team in the league, will beat a clearly better team two games in a row - especially the Super Bowl, which is a very unique circumstance.

Disagree.
SF - 429 total yards. - 308 passing yards - 131 rushing yards

Baltimore - 343 total yards - 241 passing yards- 102 rushing yards

If not for 1 bad decision and SEVERAL great bounces off deflected balls, we win that game. But when the box score showed 4 interceptions, the world thought Purdy and the team blew it. I'd rather be playing Baltimore Sunday than KC.

Hold up man. You're right that we didn't really get dominated by the ravens, but there's simply no doubt this is the inferior opponent.
I would like to see CMC running off left tackle and Deebo doing some jet sweeps, the 49ers need to get back to their roots and start running the ball more.

Deebo is definitely gonna be a factor in this game. This version of Deebo is not the same version from the first time.

Deebo doesn't want to go home again with a broken heart.

This is correct. 24 is the magic number
Deebo be Debolicious (Delicious)

Every time he gets the ball, my son and my self cry out Deebolicious. Lol

You are me and my sons' hero.

I thought this was a really good analysis from an experienced handicapper. His perspective on picking the niners to win is that he believes the defense's drop in performance is less likely to continue for a 3rd game in a row than the Chiefs maintaining their offense's improvement during the playoffs when looking at all the factors involved, which he does.

For anyone having doubts on how this Super Bowl "should" turn out, this is a great watch. Dude nails it and puts all your doubts to bed. Nice find 👍🏽
Great video. Yes, GB and Detroit essentially ran the same outside stuff that KC used to beat us in week 7 last year. I like how this guy says that if Wilkes can't figure out a way to slow it, with a week of prep, it would be coaching malpractice. But yeah, hopeful video, I agree with everything he says

Warner with a pick 6 and forced fumble recovered by 49ers. A defender would need multiple splash plays while neither offense stands out.
