Im thinking more and more Niners will cover that -2.5. Vegas is targeting the people that go "Psh the Chiefs are +110 and not favored? Easy money."
Right now to most people it's egregious to pick the Niners -2.5 after all week the National media has been sucking off the Chiefs and have way more coverage on them. Even if 51% of bettors pick the Chiefs and they lose, then Vegas wins. I'm leaning towards 60%+ of bettors are going with Chiefs. Vegas also knows that Superbowl Sunday is arguably the biggest sports betting day of the year. A lot more casuals are spending money.
In general, Vegas also knows there are smart fans (much less of them) that know the real deal but are willing to take those losses. The chiefs at +110 seems like such a trap! The perfect trap to get the Swifties and casual bettors (just SB bettors to make it more fun!) to randomly place a meager $10 on them. But if you get an additional 100 million people betting because of T Swift, then that $10 adds up.
That had nothing to do with the Xs and Os, but just my opinion on the signs and intricacies of gambling.
