🏆 SUPER BOWL LVIII PREGAME THREAD - SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS 🏆

Every nfl message board I have looked at has KC winning due to the coaching matchups.

Doesn't mean we can't win. But it would take a near perfect game.

Why? Because KC is just that much better of a team? Cause I'll disagree with everyone on these message boards about that.

It's not like shanahan is a bad coach lol. Quite the opposite actually.

I am with you man.

I know what their QB is but they havent been the same on offense this year.

If we play our game we can beat anyone.

Man, watching this Detroit game. They could've easily opened up a 28-7 lead at halftime.

Keep watching. You're almost at the good part.

Actually midway through the 3rd Lions driving and Goff just missing some open receivers by inches…

Lions really s**t the bed here…

It took a perfect series of events to lose. And the Lions did it like only the Lions know how too.

Yea. Just watching it with a neutral POV, the Lions just let it slip through their fingers. Literally and figuratively.

Looks like Vegas still has us as 1.5 point favorites? What makes me a little nervous is it feels like the underdog wins the Super Bowl 80% of the time these days, but 1.5 points is basically a pick-em.

Favorites have fared better than underdogs in the Super Bowl, winning 37 of 56 games while going 28-26-2 ATS (the 2015 game between the Patriots and Seahawks closed at pick'em).

Hopefully the wives come and keep them in check.

Vegas has way too many temptations for rich young people.

You would hope they stay focused on the preparation.

Meh, either one we would have a reason for wanting to beat in the SB. Chiefs are the most recent to beat the Niners. The 49ers are on a mission and the players, not the coaches play the game. Do not underestimate the Heart in this team I believe they will beat the mighty Chiefs. JMHO This game is going to be a dog fight and I can't wait to watch it!!!!!!! Go Niners
If the 9ers play bad and lose, I can live with it. If they lose because of questionable calls or no calls like SB 54, I'm done. Just watch video of 2 no call obvious PIs on KC against Baltimore.

Hopefully the 9ers come out scoring and just keep the pedal to the metal. Get tge score high enough the refs can't bring KC back.

Looking forward to the Super Bowl, not the Swifties/Mahomies Bowl.

You're not going to call those ticky tac PIs. OBJ tried to sell hard. He's old and slow.
I just didn't want to play Baltimore. I can't explain it, because mahomes makes me nervous, but I think we can do it

Please god let us have this one

Hmm… I guess I was looking a little too much into recent history. Since Super Bowl 42, the underdog has won a slight majority of the time, but the favorite has won a fair number of times too (including the Chiefs against us four years ago )

Now this thread is coming into fruition. After 24 hours of excitement and celebration, reality hits. How do you stop the current GOAT when you have a defensive coordinator that lacks imagination and creativity? For all you guys that think Wilks is in his mad scientist laboratory scheming up a game plan that will befuddle Reid and Mahomes, keep dreaming.

Wilks is going to come out the same exact way he came out against GB. The same way he came out against Detroit. See how the jet sweep got Detroit a TD on that first down ? Watch KC exploit it over and over, and Wilks will have that "I didn't know they do that" look on his face. Of course, once Kyle starts screaming in his ear, he'll adjust. But by then Mahomes will have run up the score, and unlike Love and Goff, Mahomes is not going to crack under pressure.

We are at a severe disadvantage here folks. SEVERE disadvantage

Mahomes is not the second coming of Christ. He is human and has and will make mistakes. He is good but he has lost to lesser talented teams than the Niners. So this game is not over before it even starts.

Two words….Steve Wilks
If they bring the same defense last night into the SB, Mahomes gonna carve it up full 60 minutes. Spotty pressure on Goff and he isn't as mobile as Mahomes.

We had our share of breaks, mostly on the defensive side of the ball in the 2nd half. We also dealt with some bad breaks of our own.

Luck didn't put up 34 points on the Lions. 27 of it in one half. They're a flawed team just like we are (and everybody else).
