OTOH some kind of weird stat if we're wearing away jerseys on natural grass, we lose the SB. Home jerseys on real grass Niners win or away on artificial turf, also win. But this trend has only happened once for each because 2 SB losses out of 7 appearances. Lost wearing home jerseys/artificial turf (NO), lost wearing away/natural grass (MIA). But the 5 wins were all the exact opposite circumstances of those jersey/field surface combos e.g. home jersey/natural. Probably more of a coincidence than a real telling stat. Time to end the streak just like Shanahan's winless record trailing by whatever going into 4th qtr was broken. I know that was a lot of minutia.

The previous trend was:

1981) Niners wear white, SB is indoors on turf, WIN

1984) Niners wear red, SB is outdoors on grass, WIN

1988) Niners wear red, SB is outdoors on grass, WIN

1989) Niners wear white, SB is indoors on turf, WIN

1994) Niners wear red, SB is outdoors on grass, WIN

They then went away from that:

2012) Niners wear red, SB is indoor on turf, LOST

2019) Niners wear white, SB is outside (partially covered) on grass, LOST

For the coming game there's a plot twist:

2023) Niners will wear white, SB is indoors, surface is natural grass (grass is rolled in for NFL games, for college/UNLV games it's turf)

There's already enough anxiety, this just adds to the emotions. Not falling for it.

So that pattern doesn't apply anymore lol. All right here we come 6th Lombardi!

Ok can someone enlighten me on this- A lot of narratives on how 'no one wants the 49ers to win the Superbowl' or 'this is a terrible Superbowl, both teams should lose.' etc. Who's Cheerios did we p-ss in? Honestly, do not get it. For casual fans or people to hate the Niners so much (obviously I get Green Bay and Cowboys fans etc. since we regularly knock them out). But we have an ultimate underdog- a truly calm quiet humble guy for a QB. While the team is confident in who they are, they don't talk a lot of trash for no reason and in fact, usually take the high road against opposing teams that do and just let their on-field work for themselves. They are entertaining, CMC is easy to watch if you just enjoy watching the game. Our coach is not a loudmouth, our owner is not an attention-whore. Kittle is probably one of the most likable guys in the NFL period. They all work hard, and the culture is openly envied by other underperforming teams. Real brotherhood, you get a sense here.

So..what the hell?

• East Coast bias (most Niner games are openly ignored due east coasters/media being too lazy to watch Niners' 4pm/8pm ET games)

• disdain for California in general & SF in particular from certain demographics

• envy of the Niners past success

Edit:

• assload of ex-Cowboys in the media spinning their disinformation and alternate false history (e.g. Michael Irvin "PI" in the '95 NFCCG) against the Niners

• they wanna generate clicks and internet traffic/debate/TV ratings

Some truths in all statements here, but a lot overblown too. That overall conspiracy theory is inevitable in so many ways as the NFL is a business and the owners love making money. Mahommes is their new poster boy (Brady was the previous). He generates so much money fans simply believe he gets calls and protections etc. I believe there's truth to it, but maybe not as extreme as the internet would make it seem.

As far as anything deeper you have to look at other sports such FIFA who are notorious for corruption and trying to dictate outcomes etc. Insane corruption at times to tbh. Could that ever happen in the NFL? Sure, how? Well I don't think it's the players since they make tons of cash, so then you look at the referees which is exactly how FIFA did a lot of that. (The other is buying coaches/managers which I don't think applies in the NFL) .

The NFL legalizing gambling also opens a whole new can of worms for scrutiny imo. I am surprised NFL refs are still part time employees. They should be full time insanely over compensated employees who are audited by a neutral third party. That would negate 99% of any BS theory that would be born off the net lol But the fact this has never happened makes us all wonder.

Agree the Raven's Defense was elite this year - and that was as sweet trench play!

…it's like automatic every generation a Cowboy retires and had a NFL media job waiting for them, to continue the Niner-hate narrative.

Things could be changing with all the internet podcasts proliferating nowadays.

Brooke Shields was 29 in 1995

…she's 58 now

…we are OLD.
Do what the ravens did just don't have Lamar as your QB and we should smash them...

Chief offensive coaches/personnel have already seen this on film review. But I guess they still won't know if or when it'll happen again.
Crap. Not only do we have to deal with Reid and his schemes, now Steve Spagnuolo is a darn good DC. He has some of the best QBs/RBs in the league neutralized, more so in the playoffs this year.
